    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic laminate excellent in heat dimensional stability, having high whiteness, low in specific gravity and excellent in abrasion resistance by forming a film support from a polyester film specific in its heat- shrinkage factor and specific gravity and mixing a non-compatible polymer with the polyester film in a dispersed state to specify the shape factor of the non-compatible polymer in the film. CONSTITUTION:A plastic laminate is formed by laminating a surface hard layer to a film support and the film support is composed of a polyester film wherein a heat-shrinkage factor at 150 deg.C is below 2% and specific gravity is 0.95 or less and a non-compatible polymer is dispersed in and mixed with the polyester film and the shape factor of the non-compatible polymer in the film is 1-4. The hue b-value calculated by a differential colorimeter of the film support is -3 or less. The surface hard layer is composed of an active ray curable monomer mixture consisting of at least one kind of a monomer having three or more (meth)acryloyloxy groups in its one molecule and at least one kind of a monomer having 1-2 ethylenic unsaturated double bonds in its one molecule.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve heat dimension stability and the like by forming a white polyester film with a white polyester layer having 0.5 - 1.0 g/cm of apparent density and 1.0 % or less of heat shrinkage rate in the longitudinal and width directions. CONSTITUTION:Crystallization of a molten material composed of polyester mixed with incompatible thermoplastic resin and polyalkylene glycol is accelerated in the cooling process. The same is slightly oriented in the longitudinal direction in the vicinity of glass transition temperature of a film, and then oriented in the longitudinal direction in many stages, and further oriented laterally while the temperature of the film is risen in the width direction to manufacture a polyester film with a white polyester layer having 0.5 - 1.0 g/cm of apparent density and 1.0 % or less of heat shrinkage rate in the longitudinal and width directions. Said polyester film is free from printing shear in orienting and of superior processing characteristics.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a film excellent in the whiteness and cleavage strength at a low cost by incorporating a white polyester layer contg. innumerable microbubbles and, pref., inorg, particles into the film. CONSTITUTION:A white polyester film which has a white polyester layer, an apparent density of 0.5-1.0g/cm , and a cleavage strength of 250g/15mm or higher, and which is useful as a paper substitute, e.g. as a substrate for a card, label, seal, image receiving paper for a video printer, image receiving paper for a bar code printer, photographic paper, etc. A polyester pref. for this purpose is polyethylene terephthalate. The white polyester layer contains innumerable microbubbles, which scatter light to make the layer white and opaque. To further increase the whiteness and optical density, the addition of an inorg. filler, e.g. CaCO3, TiO2, etc., is pref. and the addition of a fluorescent brightener is also pref.

CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. polyester (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is mixed with 7-30 pts.wt. CaCO3 and 0.001-5 pts.wt. Sr compound (e.g. SrCO3) and/or Ba compound (e.g. BaSO4).
