Abstract:
A fluid filtering apparatus and method may include keyed components to ensure that a correct filter element is being installed into a filter base. Keyed arrangements may occur between a filter element and a filter housing, a filter and a filter base, and a filter base and a filter housing. A locking arrangement may be provided to prevent undesired loosening of a filter relative to a filter base. The filter base may include a torsion lock insert that engages lock detents of a filter to prevent the undesired loosening. An adaptor may be provided to provide the lock detents that interact with a torsion lock insert.

Abstract:
A filter includes filter media and a housing surrounding the media. The housing has an outlet and is sealed such that all fluid flow out of the outlet must first enter the cartridge and pass through the media. The housing has multiple inlet flow paths configured so that fluid impinging on the housing is diffused as it enters the cartridge and is prevented from flowing directly towards the filter media.
Abstract:
A pleated filter element includes a composite depth filter medium formed into a plurality of pleats. The composite depth filter medium includes a plurality of depth filter media layers. Each of the plurality of depth filter media layers includes adsorber particulate matter. Each of the plurality of depth filter media layers may have a thickness less than about 1300 microns. The plurality of depth filter media layers may have at least 50% by weight of adsorber particulate matter.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge which comprises a filter pack (3) formed by a flat filtering medium, a tubular sheath (2) with a perforated wall, surrounding the filtering pack, and two respective end caps (5) having a first disc (16) and a second disc (17) placed one on top of the other, each made from thermoplastic, with a portion of the filtering pack (3) situated along one of its edges and a portion of the sheath (2) situated along one of its edges (33) which are embedded in the second disc (17), with the first disc (16) having a peripheral rim (19) which surrounds the relevant portion of the sheath (2) and with the sheath having a shoulder (34) opposite the edge of the rim (19) of the first disc (16).
Abstract:
To achieve space saving and cost reduction by solving a problem with a conventional treatment fluid filtration device wherein a deaerating device and a solid particle filter device were required separately. A filter unit comprises a head part 3 having a treatment fluid inlet port 5, a filtrated fluid delivery port 7, and a deaerating port 9; a housing 1 integrally or detachably connected, in a fluid-tight manner, to the head part; a plurality of deaerating hollow fibers 33, which is housed in the housing on the upstream side; and a filter element 13 housed in the housing on the downstream side of the deaerating hollow fibers. The inlet port 5 communicates with the outer surface side of the hollow fibers 33. The delivery port communicates with the downstream side of the filter element 13. The deaeration port 9 communicates with an internal passage of the hollow fibers 33.
Abstract:
Providing a filter device with various functions, such as remarkable improvement of the throughput of the downstream filter, ion-removing property of the upstream filter. A filter element comprises an upstream filter and a downstream filter made of the same or different material and installed into one housing or container, wherein said downstream filter is fixed to said housing, said upstream filter is fixed to said downstream filter, both filters are concentrically arranged to each other, and when the downstream filter is not contaminated, only the upstream filter can be replaced with fresh one.

Abstract:
A filter cartridge including a liner/valve, or support/valve construction is provided. The liner/valve construction provides for contaminant flow to the filter media during normal filtering operation, and contaminant or sediment retention in the cartridge during a servicing operation. The preferred liner/valve construction includes an outer support having a flexible sheet valve positioned therein. The preferred sheet valve includes a plurality of cut valves. Methods of construction, assembly and use are provided.
Abstract:
A method of assembling a filter element includes the initial step of forming a plastic filter casing with openings from a flat blank with opposite ends thereof bent towards one another and joining these opposite ends together by a sealing seam. Also, a resilient mat filter is folded into a cylindrical shape and pushed open on a fluid-permeable supporting pipe to surround and engage the surrounding pipe. The cylindrical shape of the mat filter has an exterior diameter prior to introduction into the casing that is larger than an interior diameter of the filter casing along the entire axial length of the mat filter. The mat folder is folded into a conical shape to facilitate its introduction thereof into the filter casing. After the axial end is formed, the mat filter and supporting pipe are introduced into the filter casing to define a filter chamber. Finally, two end caps are joined to the filter casing.
