Abstract: Disclosed herein are decanting backwash receiver assemblies, and related methods of fabrication and use. The present disclosure provides improved decanting backwash receiver assemblies for decanting of input feeds, and improved systems/methods for utilizing and fabricating the decanting backwash receiver assemblies. The present disclosure provides decanting backwash receiver assemblies utilizing porous media insert members and/or porous media surfaces for the decanting of input feeds. Exemplary decanting backwash receiver assemblies are configured and dimensioned to receive a filter backwash surge flow of slurry (e.g., solids and liquid mixture), and provide for settling of the solids from flow 11, and provide for decanting of a liquid layer above the settled solids, and optionally provide for de wetting the settled solids, and provide for discharge of the settled solids (e.g., liquid wetted) from the bottom of the assemblies.

The chain tensioning system includes a chain adjuster device configured to tension the screen filter chain. The chain tensioning system additionally includes a sensor configured to provide a signal representative of a load applied by the chain adjuster; wherein the chain adjuster device is configured to apply a force in a direction that tensions the chain and wherein the signal provided by the sensor is representative of the force.

Abstract: Fluid filtration devices and methods of filtering fluids are described. The devices generally include a housing, a hollow filter assembly, a rotating cleaning assembly and a device to measure the accumulation of solids in the filter housing. In some embodiments the accumulation of solids is measured by measuring the torque required to rotate the cleaning assembly. Torque may be measured directly, such as with a torque sensor, or indirectly, such as by measuring the current used by an electric motor to drive rotation of the cleaning assembly. In some embodiments a purge valve is opened to remove accumulated solids from the housing when a certain level of solids accumulation is detected.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an apparatus for filtering sewage and wastewater. The filtering apparatus has a vertical structure including a filtering belt comprising a filter bag or a filter mesh that can filter out fine impurities. For this, the filtering apparatus includes a drive motor that receives power to drive the apparatus, an upper drive drum that is operated by the drive motor, a lower rotating drum that is interlocked with the upper drive drum, and a filtering belt that is wound and rotated around the upper drive drum and the lower rotating drum. The filtering apparatus cannot only filter out fine impurities less than from 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm but also separate earth and sand, unlike conventional filtering apparatuses that cannot conduct them. Furthermore, because the filtering apparatus can be placed upright or inclined at a predetermined angle, it can be used in a water inlet passage that is 4 m to 5 m underground, and impurities filtered out from water can be transferred to a height higher than 10 m above ground.

Abstract: A filter system configured to remove microfibers released from textiles being processed in a fluid. This fluid is sent into a filter housing containing a filter cartridge which in turn contains a movable inner filter. The movable inner filter is sufficiently flexible as to permit random movement in the fluid so that the inner filter rubs against the cartridge housing thereby removing particulate matter from the cartridge housing, thereby extending the useful life of the filter cartridge.

Abstract: A filter device provides designs that permit variable levels of solid particle removal. Abstract: A filtration system for a fuel system for a marine vessel engine. The system comprising: an inlet for fluid connection to a settling tank; an outlet for fluid connection to a service tank; and an arrangement of plural primary filtration devices The arrangement is fluidly connected between the inlet and outlet so that fuel flowing from the settling tank via the inlet to the service tank via the outlet passes through at least one of the primary filtration devices. The system is configured so that each respective primary filtration device operates, independently of each other primary filtration device in: a first mode, in which the fuel flows in a first direction through a filter of the respective primary filtration device to remove contaminants from the fuel, or a second mode, in which a fluid flows through the filter in a second direction, opposite the first direction, to dislodge the contaminants.
