The invention concerns an embossing device, such as a cylinder or a sleeve comprising on its outer peripheral surface an embossing raised and recessed pattern, designed to be reproduced on a deformable planar substrate. The device is characterized in that the cylinder or sleeve (2) bears a photopolymer coating (6) the outer surface of which has the raised embossing pattern (4). The invention is useful for embossing on deformable planar substrates.

The aim of the invention is to significantly reduce the set-up times when installing a forming die in a rotative punching press or a rotary press. According to the invention, the female die (A2) or male die (A3) of a forming die is created from a forming compound, which is shaped by the corresponding counter die in the machine and is subsequently hardened. During the production of the female die (A2), a surfeit (A5) of compound is produced by means of a uniform registration method in all directions along a defined travel path.

A process and an equipment for micro-pattern forming on the surface of a rolling roll (1), and a metallic thin sheet and preparation thereof by transfering the micro-pattern on the surface by use of the roll are provided. Such a rolling roll can be attained by a method wherein resin film (28) mixed with optical absorbing agent is formed on the surface, a Q switch YAG laser having an output of 5 to 100 W is applied to make a marking of this resin film, a part of the coated film is removed in strictly accordance with the pattern, then an etching process is applied to the roll surface. The metallic thin sheet skin pass rolled by this roll is used as a car panel being superior in pressworkability and sharpness of reflections.

Disclosed is a braille printing system and braille printing method using the same, the system enhancing braille printing speed by using a double print head structure and enhancing completion of braille printed on paper by heating the paper. In order to achieve the above object, there is provided a braille printing system including a braille printing plate producing unit producing a braille printing plate by forming embossed dots on a metal plate; a rubber printing plate producing unit producing a rubber printing plate by forming engraved dots on a rubber sheet; and a braille printing unit producing a braille printed material by printing braille on a paper being conveyed between the braille printing plate and the rubber printing plate. The braille printing unit prints the braille by simultaneously heating and compressing the paper.

Provided are a manufacturing method for an embossing roll which is capable of being manufactured in a wide variety in small quantities and has uneven patterns formed uniformly and precisely without irregularities, and the embossing roll. The manufacturing method for the embossing roll comprises: a step of preparing a cylindrical base material; and a modeling step of modeling embossing onto a surface of the cylindrical base material with a three-dimensional printer based on three-dimensional processing data. It is preferred that the three-dimensional processing data is created by subjecting an embossing roll model to three-dimensional scanning.

Beim Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Satzes von miteinander kooperierenden Prägewalzen wird für die Parametrisierung der Prägewalzen eine Modellvorrichtung verwendet, die ein Paar Walzen aufweist, die unter mess- und einstellbaren Druck gesetzt werden, um aus den Messdaten die Parameter zur Herstellung der Prägewalzen zu bestimmen. Durch die Verwendung einer Modellvorrichtung zum Gewinnen der Parameter zur Herstellung eines Satzes von Prägewalzen, ist es möglich, rationell von einer sehr grossen Vielfalt von Prägemustern und Folien mit diversen Eigenschaften auszugehen.

Described herein is a method for obtaining an incision in an embossing roller using a hob, with a low-cost technique that enables protuberances P that are rounded on top to be obtained, which improve the quality of the embossed material and reduce the wear of the mechanical components of the embossing units. The shape of the protuberances (P) is obtained by machining the cylindrical surface of the roller (1) that is placed between the tailstocks of the lathe using a hob that has teeth, the profile of which in cross-sectional view is complementary to that of the cross section of the protuberances illustrated in Figure 6. Figure 6 shows schematically in cross-sectional view a portion of the surface of the roller with protuberances in the machining step and a portion of the hob (10) with the teeth (D) that are generating the grooves that define the side faces of the protuberances . As may be noted in Figure 6A, the grooves between the teeth of the hob have a profile that is curvilinear in a cross-sectinoal view. With a double pass othis taccording two different inclinations of the surface of the roller the protuberances of Figure 5 and 6 are generated.
