Abstract:
Synthesis methods for creating polymeric compounds comprising dihydroxyphenyl derivatives (DHPD), or DHPp i.e. polymers modified with DHPD, with desired surface active effects are described. The polymer backbone of DHPp has structural or performance features that can be tailored to control physical properties of DHPp, allowing it to be useful for different applications i.e. tissue adhesives or sealants, adhesion promoting coatings, and antifouling coatings.
Abstract:
An adhesive composition for bonding the optical function member and a display unit for integration with each other and for use in an optical function member integrated display unit, characterized in that the adhesive composition is formed by mixing a compound having a hydroxyl group, and an optical function member integrated display unit using the composition.
Abstract:
An adhesive composition to be used for production of a display unit integrally combined with an optically functional member by bonding together the display unit and the optically functional member, wherein the adhesive composition is characterized by being incorporated with a compound having one or more hydroxyl groups. A display unit combined with an optically functional member in which the display unit and the optically functional member are bonded together by means of an adhesive layer, wherein the adhesive layer is characterized by being formed from the adhesive composition.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an emulsion for pressure-sensitive adhesive, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive product which exhibits high water resistance and high adhesion properties. The emulsion for pressure-sensitive adhesive includes as essential components: a pressure-sensitive adhesive polymer (A) having a glass-transition temperature of -80 to -20 DEG C, a weight-average molecular weight of 150,000 or larger, and a carboxylic acid value of 30 or smaller; a rosin derivative (B) having a weight-average molecular weight of 100,000 or smaller, and containing at least part of the carboxyl groups being alkali salt with a carboxylic acid value of 190 or larger before alkalization; and a compound (C) having a weight-average molecular weight of 100,000 or smaller, and having no carboxyl group but having at least one functional group reactive with a carboxyl group in its molecule. The amount of the rosin derivative (B) is 2 to 30 mass percent when the total amount of the pressure-sensitive adhesive polymer (A) and the rosin derivative (B) in the emulsion is defined as 100 mass percent, and the compound (C) is contained in the emulsion so that the functional group of the compound (C) is in an amount of 0.05 to 10 equivalents with respect to one equivalent of the carboxyl groups of the rosin derivative (B) before alkalization.
Abstract:
Described is a curable powder coating composition that provides a durable decorative wrinkle finish after curing, as well as a method of coating a substrate and a substrate so coated. The powder coating composition includes a specific triazine-type amino resin crosslinking agent, a hydroxyl functional resin and an amine blocked non-halogenated sulfonic acid catalyst.
Abstract:
A liquid or spreadable, vulcanisable rubber mixture based on a plurality of polymers, of which at least one is olefinically unsaturated, are prepared in such a manner that they can be cured by two different chemical reaction mechanisms which can be activated successively and can be catalysed at least substantially independently of one another. This is achieved by preparing a rubber mixture from - 30-70 parts by weight of a polymer A containing an average of at least 2 hydroxyl groups per macromolecule, - 70-30 parts by weight of a polymer B which is compatible with A and contains an average of at least 2 carboxylic acid and/or carboxylic anhydride groups or at least one carboxylic acid and one carboxylic anhydride group per molecule, - 10-120 parts by weight of vulcanisation assistants and if desired fillers and/or auxiliaries and - if desired 0.01-5 parts by weight of esterification catalysts, at least one of the polymers A and B being vulcanisable via its olefinic double bonds under conventional reaction conditions at elevated temperatures.
