Abstract:
A safety device for use with a door panel hinged to another door element such as another door or to a door frame or jamb for relative swinging motion of the door panel. The device has a block sized and configured to insert into a triangular space formed between a door panel and another door element to which the door panel is hinged when the door panel is in a non-closed position, but to resist traverse through a through-gap between the door panel and the other door element to which it is hinged. A keeper is connected to the block, the keeper having a first portion thereof being sized to fit through the through-gap, and a second portion adapted to resist traverse through the through-gap when in normal operation of the door after installation of the safety device. A first portion of the keeper is resilient, thus permitting a distance between the second portion of the keeper and the block to be varied without disconnecting the block from the keeper while providing a bias force to urge the block into the triangular space when the door is in a non-closed position. The first portion of the keeper is sized to permit a distance between the block and the second portion , of the keeper to be sufficient to permit the block to be completely out of the triangular space while still being connected to the second portion of the keeper.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a door jamb finger guard. The finger guard comprises a door lock for preventing closure of the door, a housing for the door lock and an activating means. The activating means is activateable by a door closing obstacle for automatically moving the door lock between an inactive position and an active position. In the inactive position, the door lock is recessed within the housing, while in the active position, the door lock projects from the housing to prevent closure of the door.
Abstract:
A hinge (20, 120) for pivotably mounting a panel (14) to a vehicle body (12) includes a panel attachment plate (22, 122) securable to the panel, a body attachment plate (24, 124) securable to the vehicle body, and an intermediate member (32, 132) pivotably attached between the body and panel attachment plates. The intermediate member has opposite sidewalls (32a, 132a) and a center flange (32b, 132b) extending therebetween. The sidewalls engage the body attachment plate with the center flange spaced from the plate when the intermediate member is pivoted such that the sidewalls are positioned generally along the plate. The intermediate member may include stop members (38, 138) for limiting pivotal movement of the panel attachment plate at different positions by being cut to different sizes during manufacture of the hinge. The body attachment plate (124) may provide a hinge portion (124b) that provides enhanced structural rigidity to the hinge.
Abstract:
A mechanism for preventing injury to a person's or child's hand when a door (12) slams against a door frame or jamb. The mechanism comprises a casing (18) positioned within a hollowed-out portion of the door (12). The casing (18) is constructed with an opening (18a) disposed along the edge (12a) of the door (12). A metallic pendulum (20) is housed and suspended within the casing such that the pendulum (20) to swing outwardly through the opening. A raised metal body (14) is attached to the slide molding of the door frame or jamb and engages the outwardly swung pendulum (20) to prevent the door from completely closing.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a doorstop (1) for limiting and arresting the opening movement of a door (2) past a given movement distance. The doorstop includes an elastic element (4), which may be attached to an existing hinge (3) carrying the door, the element (4) having a lateral extension, i.e. in a direction at right angles to the pivoting axis of the hinge (3), substantially corresponding to a given, desired opening angle ( alpha ) of the door (2).
Abstract:
A control and regulation for doors equipped with a microprocessor control is disclosed. Besides the normal path of information transmission to the microprocessor control, a second channel of transmission is created in that a safety surveillance system receives the same safety-relevant information as the microprocessor control. The safety surveillance system is capable of recognising errors, for example, when the microprocessor control has not switched off the door, the safety surveillance switches off the door, annonces the error in the system to an error recognition unit, and immediately stops the motor and thus the door by means of a redundant switching-off unit. The safety-relevant functions may be both manually and automatically checked.
Abstract:
Embodiments describe an eartip including an eartip body having an attachment end and an interfacing end opposite from the attachment end. The eartip body can include an inner eartip body having a sidewall extending between the interfacing end and the attachment end, the sidewall defining a channel and having a first thickness near the attachment end and a second thickness different from the first thickness at the interfacing end. The eartip can also include an attachment structure coupled to the inner eartip body at the attachment end, the attachment structure having an inner surface and an outer surface. The attachment structure can include an upper region interfacing with the sidewall and defining discrete through-holes, a lower region below the upper region where the inner surface defines a plurality of recesses positioned around the lower region, and a mesh extending across the channel and into the upper region.
Abstract:
A door stop includes an elongated body defining an axis, at least one attachment structure disposed near a first end of the elongated body, and at least one adornment coupler. The adornment coupler can include a channel formed in the elongated body parallel to its axis and having a cross-section in the shape of an inverted “T”. The adornment coupler enables different adornments to be interchangeably attached to the door stop. An adornment of the invention includes a decorative portion and a mounting structure coupled to the decorative portion. The mounting structure is configured to removably engage a complementary adornment coupler (e.g., the channel) of the door stop, whereby the adornment can be mounted to the door stop.
