Abstract:
A system for isolating a fault in a direct current (DC) grid using thermionic arc extinction. The system includes a DC grid that includes a transmission line. The DC grid also includes a plurality of current interrupters disposed on the transmission line. Each of the plurality of current interrupters on the transmission line are electrically coupled to one another in series. At least one of the current interrupters includes a fixed terminal end and a moveable terminal end. Further, at least one of the current interrupters has an arc shield housing at least two arcing contacts. At least one of the arcing contacts comprises a first conducting material that has a first vaporizing point.

Abstract:
A polyester thin-film switch of a flexible circuit board for a keyboard includes an upper layer polyester thin film, a middle layer and a lower layer polyester thin film, wherein the upper layer polyester thin film and the lower layer polyester thin film are plated with a matching printed circuit formed by copper wires with the width of 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm, the middle layer is an insulating layer, and the insulating layer is opened with a spacer hole for a key to pass through.
Abstract:
A switch assembly includes a plurality of electrical devices and a plurality of user activated switches. The plurality of electrical devices each include a control terminal. Each of the electrical devices causes a different distinguishable output to be provided when a control signal is asserted on the control terminal of one of the plurality of electrical devices. The plurality of user activated switches include carbon-coated contacts. Each of the user activated switches when asserted provides the control signal to the control terminal of one of the plurality of electrical devices.
Abstract:
The see-through coordinate input tablet is formed of two oppositely facing elements each made of a transparent substrate provided with fine metal wires running in parallel on the inward surface of the substrate, the running directions on the two substrates being perpendicular to each other. At least either one of the elements is provided with a detecting resistor along a side periphery crossing the end portions of the parallel-running metal wires so that the accuracy and reliability in the detection of the coordinates of the inputted point can be improved.
Abstract:
A circuit pattern on a circuit board, as used in telecommunications systems and other electrical apparatus, often has contact positions for switches, such as pushbutton switches, and for other purposes. The normal copper circuit pattern is covered at the contact positions to give improved contact conditions. Carbon ink has been proposed by obtaining the necessary high level of alignment of carbon ink with the copper pattern at contact positions is difficult as such contact positions have very close members. The invention proposes contact positions having closely spaced inter-digital contact members, in which the circuit pattern extends to and stops at the peripheral region of a contact position, the contact members being of carbon ink and overlapping conductors of the circuit pattern at the peripheral region.
Abstract:
A keyboard for a musical instrument having a plurality of elongated keys with each key having a rearwardly extending actuating arm. The arm has an upper and a lower nonresilient switch actuator for actuating a respective first and second keyboard switch with each switch having a substrate with at least one fixed contact. A deformable membrane has coupled thereto a movable contact which is adapted for movement into and out of electrical connection with the fixed contact. The first and second switches are positioned so that the lower actuator normally maintains closed the first switch and when the key is actuated the first switch opens and the upper actuator closes the second switch. The deformable membrane is formed of Poron cellular urethane which distributes and absorbs the actuation force and springs back to its undeformed shape when not actuated.
