Abstract:
A method of providing a digital broadcast and apparatus for receiving a digital broadcast are disclosed, by which a CA (conditional access) digital broadcast can be temporarily provided to enable a digital broadcast user to easily decide whether to subscribe to a pay broadcasting service by allowing the broadcast user to temporarily access the pay broadcasting service without necessary qualification or condition. The present invention generates a digital broadcast transmission frame for digital broadcast content including time-limited broadcast reception admission information to enable the digital broadcast to be received for a limited time.

A device and method are provided for processing multimedia broadcast-related events in a portable terminal, and include a memory for storing character UI images according to multimedia broadcast-related events, an event collection section for collecting the multimedia broadcast-related events generated in the portable terminal and for generating event messages for discriminating the generated multimedia broadcast-related events, an agent control section including a plurality of specialists for processing the multimedia broadcast-related events, the agent control section determining specialists corresponding to the event messages, selecting and outputting character UI IDs corresponding to the multimedia broadcast-related events of the determined specialist, and processing feedback information on the corresponding events according to the feedback infonnation of a user, and an agent expression section for outputting character images and texts which correspond to the multimedia broadcast-related events and the feedback information.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of preventing degradation in received voices due to periodic or continuous silent states in violation of broadcasting standards or broadcast accident without complicated operations.SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver includes: a RF section 22 for receiving broadcast signals to perform a predetermined voice reproducing operation; an analog-digital converter 24; a decoder 26; a silent state detector 28 for detecting a silent state of the reproduced sound signal; and a service switching section 62 for switching a service which becomes a reception target when the silent state is detected by the silent state detector to a service included in the other ensemble having the same content.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly select a service using a mapped imaginary channel key, even when movement between areas occurs, by performing imaginary channel mapping using the FIC (Fast Information Channel) of terrestrial DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting). SOLUTION: A terrestrial DMB receiver uses an imaginary channel in a terrestrial DMB system. The terrestrial DMB receiver includes: a key input unit for receiving an input from a user; a display unit for providing an image output to the user; an imaginary channel information storage unit for storing information on imaginary channels set to each broadcasting service; a DMB receiving unit for receiving terrestrial DMB; an MCI (Multiple Configuration Information)/SI (Service Information) analyzer for analyzing MCI and SI of FIC information from a DMB broadcasting signal; and a controller for extracting service IDs from the storage unit in response to an input, controlling the receiving unit to select a corresponding broadcasting service, checking the information from the analyzer, and performing control to update the storage unit.
