Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for receiving broadcast data in a digital broadcasting receiver are provided to prevent the receiver from receiving delta t information when a receiving condition is not good and to prepare for a power ON state when receiving the next MPE(Multi Protocol Encapsulation) section normally in order to reduce power consumption. A delta t value is initialized(1000). A digital broadcasting receiver detects a section, and a CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) test is executed for the received section(1002,1004). When the CRC test is effective, the delta t information is read from the section header(1006,1008). A delta t flag is set as 'True' to receive/set the new delta t information(1016). The receiver tests whether the frame boundary is detected(1018). R-S decoding is executed with regard to the received MPE sections, and the power off mode is approached(1020,1022).
Abstract:
An electronic service guide providing method and a broadcasting terminal and a system for the same are provided to insert the broadcasting data into the IP(Internet Protocol)-data program allocated for inserting the ESG(Electronic Service Guide) information, thereby increasing the number of broadcasting channels. A broadcasting center(110) produces a broadcasting signal including the ESG information to a fading area of the MPE(Multimedia Protocol Encapsulation) section and transmits the produces broadcasting signal. A broadcasting terminal(120) extracts the ESG information included into the fading area, not the IP(Internet Protocol)-datagram, of the broadcasting signal MPE section received from the broadcasting center and reproduces the broadcasting signal by means of the extracted ESG information. The ESG information includes each channel information and the SDP(Service Description Protocol) for reproducing each channel.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving traffic information are provided to provide information related to a congested state of a traffic section. A multiplexing unit(10) multiplexes an audio signal, a video signal, a data signal including traffic information about a section average speed estimation, and a broadcast transmission stream including service information about the traffic information. A coding unit includes an inner coder(31) and an inner interleaver(32). The coding unit codes the multiplexed signal in preparation for an error occurrence and interleaves the coded signal. A mapping unit(35) maps a distributed pilot signal changing over time and a continuous pilot signal fixed over time in a frame of the coded signal. A frame forming unit(40) modulates the mapped signals according to an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) method, and adds some of the modulated signals to the converted signals to insert a guard interval to a frame to which the modulation signal belongs. A transmitting unit(42) transmits the converted signal as an RF signal.

A method and a system for processing multimedia data are provided to process a DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handled) signal received through a DVB-H receiver integrated within a cable mode efficiently. A DVB-H signal is received through a DVB-H receiver, which is integrated within a cable modem(120a) comprising a wireless interface or a wired interface. The received DVB-H signal is routed from the cable modem to one or more multimedia devices(116a,116b), which are communicatively coupled to the cable modem through the wireless interface or the wired interface.

A method for providing an interactive service interworked with digital broadcasting television and radio channels and an add-value business model are provided to transmit information about a service that a user wants by using a heterogeneous communication network, and supply a broadcasting and communication-integrated service based on network convergence and contents convergence. A broadcasting provider produces and transmits programs. A service administrating company administrates an add-value business model by using a service guide server and a CMS(Contents Management Server). The service guide server receives program guide information of the broadcasting provider in real time and configures contents which will be provided to viewers. The CMS configures contents, which will be provided to the viewers, in a meta data form by connecting contents of the broadcasting provider and existing webs in real time. A communication network infra transmits the service and transceives data of a user. A broadcasting and communication-integrated terminal receives, stores and displays the service.

A broadcasting receiver and a broadcasting receiving method are provided to perform conditional access and restore data transmitted in a conditional access mode to the original state. A broadcasting receiver includes an interface(430), a host(400), and at least one module(500). The interface includes a physical layer and at least one protocol layer. The host receives a mobile broadcasting service and restores the mobile broadcasting service. The module is connected/disconnected to/from the host. When the received mobile broadcasting service is in a conditional access mode, the host and the module communicate with each other through the interface to confirm entitlement to receive the mobile broadcasting service and decode the mobile broadcasting service.

A broadcasting receiver and a processing method thereof are provided to receive and supply two or more multi services, thereby applying a PIP(Picture In Picture) function or W&R(Watch&Record) functions such as a time machine to a video service without any constraints and expanding the other various multimedia functions. In a receiver, N ensemble processors(210,220) and N service processors(230,240) are installed in parallel. The ensemble processor performs digitalization and synchronization recovery by tuning a frequency corresponding to one ensemble according to a control signal and outputs the performance result in a symbol form. The service processor performs demodulation and differential decoding only for symbols necessary to restore a service selected by a user among output symbols of the ensemble processor. A service selecting/channel distributing unit(250) separates data information including only control information of each ensemble and selected services received from a signal outputted from the N service processors of the receiver, and outputs a control signal so as to process only the selected service within each ensemble received in the receiver. Decoders(233,243) extract information about each ensemble and service by decoding the control information separated in the service selecting/channel distributing unit, and simultaneously output at least plural services selected by the user after decoding the data information.

A method and a system for transforming digital broadcasting contents are provided to use digital broadcasting content information provided through PSIP(Program Specific Information Protocol) and SI(System Information) protocol from a digital broadcast providing server in a TV anytime terminal. A system for transforming digital broadcasting contents comprises the following parts: a broadcast providing server(100) for providing first format digital broadcasting content information and the digital broadcasting contents; and a TV anytime terminal(300) for transforming the first format digital broadcasting content information to a second format digital broadcasting content information and outputting the second format digital broadcasting content information and the digital broadcasting contents.
Abstract:
A broadcasting signal decoding apparatus is provided to quickly and efficiently change an address even when data which requires error correction is received and an address at which the data is stored has to be changed. Broadcasting signal data is received section by section. It is determined whether data for error correction is included in the broadcasting signal data from section header information of the broadcasting signal data. If there is a value indicating that the data for the error correction is included in a value of the section header information, the data is stored while a column address is increased. The section header information indicates real-time address information. The value indicating that the data for the error correction is included is a 18-bit value which includes one or more zero bits.

A DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) CBMS(Convergence of Broadcasting and Mobile Service) system and a service roaming supply method in the system are provided to reduce a cost and implement stable transmission by utilizing a home service provider proxy in using a mobile communication channel. A terminal(400) moved out of a service area of a home service provider(470) receives ESG(Electronic Service Guide) information from the home service provider through a mobile communication channel(471). The terminal transmits a roaming setup request message for setting up service roaming to the home service provider through the mobile communication channel by using the received ESG information(401). A call is set between the terminal and a home service provider proxy(430) for controlling an area where the terminal is located. The terminal receives a service, provided by the home service provider, from the home service provider proxy(433).
