    Abstract: A method and an apparatus for receiving broadcast data in a digital broadcasting receiver are provided to prevent the receiver from receiving delta t information when a receiving condition is not good and to prepare for a power ON state when receiving the next MPE(Multi Protocol Encapsulation) section normally in order to reduce power consumption. A delta t value is initialized(1000). A digital broadcasting receiver detects a section, and a CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) test is executed for the received section(1002,1004).
