    Abstract: PURPOSE: A dynamic soft handoff method in a wireless communication system is provided to dynamically decide parameter values used for handoff, according to dynamically variable receiving power of MSs(Mobile Stations), so as to minimize the use of network resources and secure tone quality over a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION: A distance(d) to a BTS(Base Transceiver Station)-A is initialized to 1(one)(201). The received signal strength(S.sub.a(d)) from the BTS-A and the received signal strength(S.sub.b(d)) from a BTS-B are measured(202).
