PURPOSE: a mass broadcasting contents transmission and reception method and a device thereof by using a broadcasting channel and a communication channel are provided to offer backward compatibility with an existing two-dimensional HDTV and a two-dimensional HDTV receiver. PURPOSE: An optical network unit(ONU) device and a method for synchronizing the same in a cable network are provided to improve the transmission quality and the bandwidth of the cable network. CONSTITUTION: A cable modem(510) receives synchronization information from a head end through an optical line. An edge-quadrature amplitude modulation(EQAM) part(540) implements synchronization with a cable modem termination system(CMTS) in the head end based on the synchronization information and modulates received signals into radio frequency signals for a subscriber unit. The EQAM part is in connection with the subscriber unit through a coaxial line. The received signals are input the ONU device through the optical line.

PURPOSE: A transmission device for a 2D mode generation in a digital terminal, a 2D mode reproducing device, and a 2D reproducing method are provided to improve image quality by using 3D related information. CONSTITUTION: A generating unit(910) generates additional 3D related information. The additional 3D related information includes identification information. The identification information shows an image suitable for a 2D mode reproduction among a reference image and an additional image. An identification information generator(915) generates identification information based on the format type of a 3D program. A providing unit(930) provides 3D related additional information to a digital terminal.

A method and an apparatus for providing broadcast service information in a cable network are provided to supply broadcast service information to which a virtual channel is allocated, thereby easily selecting broadcast contents. An IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) service information server(31) comprises service information about IPTV broadcast contents provided to a terminal device(50). A CMTS(Cable Modem Termination System)(32) receives IPTV service information from the IPTV service information server. The CMTS allocates a respectively different virtual channel to the IPTV service information according to IPTV broadcast contents.

The present invention relates to fusion between car technology and broadcasting technology, in particular, a personal car theater system which is implemented by combining an image projector to a car. The personal car theater system is installed in a car and includes: a multimedia processing unit for obtaining video data and sound data of multimedia contents; an image projector installed in the outside of the car for receiving and projecting the video data from the multimedia processing unit; a switch for selecting one between a general mode in which the image projector operates as a headlight and a broadcasting mode in which the projector projects the video; a sound transmission device for receiving sound data from the multimedia processing unit and transmitting to a terminal using wireless communication; and a terminal for receiving the sound data from the sound transmission device using wireless communication and outputting sound, wherein the multimedia processing unit transmits the sound data to a speaker which is prepared in the car when the switch selects the general mode, and the multimedia processing unit transmits the sound data to the sound transmission device when the switch selects the broadcasting mode.
