Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the catalytic gas phase oxidation of acrolein into acrylic acid in which the initial mixture of reaction gas, with an acrolein charge of >/=150 Nl/l.h, is fed over a fixed-bed catalyst that is accommodated in two reaction zones A, B arranged in a spatially successive manner, whereby the temperature of reaction zone B is kept at a higher temperature than that of reaction zone A.
