Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automobile radiator tank part capable of holding high mechanical strength even in contact with long life coolant solution at a high temperature for a long time by using specific polyketone resin which is polyketone copolymer composed of repetitive units expressed by a specific equation. SOLUTION: A radiator tank part is manufactured by polyketone resin having a ratio of y/x (wherein, x, y represent respective mol.% in equations I and II in polymer) of 0.01 to 0.10, preferably, 0.05 to 0.10 or less which is polyketone copolymer composed of repetitive units expressed by the equations I and II. Preferably, such raw material that is obtained by blending 10 to 300 weight parts of fiberlike and/or non-fiberlike filler in 100 weight parts of the above- mentioned polyketone resin and such raw material that is obtained by blending 5 to 100 weight parts of elastomer having glass transition temperature of 20 deg.C or less in 100 weight parts of polyketone resin are used. Olefin elastomer is preferable as the elastomer having glass transition temperature of 20 deg.C or less.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head cover which is capable of holding high mechanical strength and dimensional stability under a high temperature and further is excellent in durability for chemical such as calcium chloride at a high temperature by using specified polyketone resin. SOLUTION: An automobile cylinder head cover is formed by polyketone resin which is polyketone copolymer made of repeated units shown by expressions I, II and has 0.01 to 0.10 of y/x, preferably 0.05 to 0.10 or below when mole % of each polyketone copolymer shown by the expressions I, II in polymer is defined as each of x, y. If necessary, a fibrous and/or non-fibrous filling material 10 to 300 weight part may be blended in a polyketone resin 100 weight part and elastomer having a glass-transition temperature of 20 deg. or below, preferably olefine system elastomer may be blended in the polyketone resin 100 weight part.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin connector which is excellent in shock resistance, heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance, chemical resistance, and especially in flexibility by using polyketone polymer consisting of two repetitive units with specific composition and specifying the ratio between them to a specific value. SOLUTION: In manufacture of a polyketone resin connector, resin consisting of polyketone copolymer constructed of repetitive units represented by the formulas I, II, in which a ratio y/x ranges from 0.01 to 0.10, is molded into the connector. In the formulas, (x), (y) represent mole % in the polymer, and in consideration of a mechanical characteristic and anti-shock strength, the ratio y/x ranges from 0.01 to 0.10. The ratio y/x ranges from 0.03 to 0.10 desirably, and more preferably, ranges from 0.05 to 0.09. This kind of polyketone copolymer is provided with a melting point of 175-300 deg.C, and a preferable melting point is 210-270 deg.C. Furthermore, 1-100 parts by weight of elastomer with a glass transition temperature of 20 deg.C or less may be mixed with 100 parts by weight of polyketone.

The components A and B are preferably contained in amounts of 10-90 pts.wt. and 10-90 pts.wt., respectively, in the composition.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liq.-crystalline resin which has at least one kind of structural unit selected from among dioxybiphenyl, oxybenzoyl, and dioxyphenyl units and is excellent in color tone and in stability during staying in a molding machine when being molded by specifying the benzoquinoline content of the same. SOLUTION: This resin is a liq.-crystalline polyester and/or a liq.-crystalline polyesteramide having at least one kind of structural units selected from among dioxybiphenyl, oxybenzoyl, and dioxyphenyl units and has a benzoquinone content of 10 ppm or lower. A liq.-crystalline polyester and/or a liq.-crystalline polyesteramide which has dioxybiphenyl units and is prepd. by the polymn. of a raw material contg. dihydroxybiphenyl or its deriv. prepd. by an enzymatic method is pref. An enzymatic method is advantageous since benzoquinone is hardly formed in the reaction.
