A portable apparatus for diffusing ozone directly into water contained in a pool or tank includes a corona discharge ozonator contained in a waterproof housing powered by a rechargeable 12-volt or 24-volt battery or pack that can receive a recharging current from one or more solar energy collector panels, or alternatively from a cable attached to a remote power supply. An ozone discharge conduit includes a diffuser that discharges micro-bubbles to maximize the ozone dissolved in the water. The waterproof housing can be a buoyant floating platform on which the solar panels are mounted that is either free-floating or tethered to a submerged robotic self-propelled pool cleaner, which cleaner can also contain the battery. The ozonator housing can alternatively be attached to the pool cleaner body and supplied by surface or compressed air.

Abstract:
A method for removing N-nitroso-dimethylamme (NDMA) and its derivatives (e.g. dimethylamine) from water. The method combines ultra-violet irradiation and ozonation. Hydrogen peroxide may be added to the treated water during ozonation. The method allows also to remove volatile organic compounds present in the treated water and to destroy microorganisms. A modular sidestream injection apparatus used during the ozonation step.

Process and device for treating fluids polluted by harmful substances, which are difficult to decompose, by wet oxidation with ozone-containing gas and u/v irradiation. The device comprises injectors (6, 8) by means of which ozone-containing gas produced in an ozone generator (10) may be introduced into the fluid. The fluid is then fed into a reaction and degassing container (20) before being taken to the u/v irradiation units (40, 50).

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Entgiftung von cyanid- und schwermetallhaltigen Lösungen. Zur Entfernung sowohl von freien Cyanid- und Schwermetallionen als auch von Cyan-Schwermetall-Komplexen wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, ein ozonhaltiges Gas in der Lösung zu lösen, anschließend CO₂ in die Lösung einzuspeisen und entstehende Fällprodukte abzuziehen.

Verfahren zur Absorption von Ozon in Wasser durch Einleiten eines ozonhaltigen Gases in einen Wasserstrom, der in einem Absorber (1, 1', 1") abwärts fliesst, wobei das ozonhaltige Gas am oberen Ende des Absorbers (1, 1', 1") in den Wasserstrom blasenförmig eingebracht und in diesem, entgegengesetzt zu seiner Auftriebsrichtung, nach unten zum Absorberaustritt transportiert wird. Eine entsprechende Vorrichtung weist einen zylindrischen, zumindestens am oberen Ende geschlossenen und am oberen Ende spitz zulaufenden Absorberkörper auf.

A water treatment system includes a water mixing unit adapted to promote water turbulence, an input line having an upstream end adapted to be in fluid communication with a body of water to be treated, and a downstream end in fluid communication with the water mixing unit. The system includes an ozone injector adapted to be connected in fluid communication with an ozone gas generation system. A branching line is in fluid communication with the input line and the ozone injector and an ozone supply line is in fluid communication with the ozone injector and the input line. A bypass control valve is in fluid communication with the ozone supply line and the water input line and is adapted to be selectively switched between an open position and a closed position, wherein water is prevented from flowing through the branching line and the ozone supply line when the bypass control valve is in the closed position.

The present invention is directed towards a method and apparatus for sanitizing treated water of an unsatisfactory quality so as to produce sanitized water which is potable and of a satisfactory quality. The method comprises the steps of filtering, irradiating, and, ozonating the treated water so as to sanitize the treated water in a water sanitization assembly. The sanitized water is then stored in a sanitized water tank. Upon demand by a user, a pump is activated to pump the sanitized water out of the sanitized water tank and through a carbon filter to a dispensing outlet.
