Abstract:
A window regulator apparatus for moving a window glass in the vertical direction of a vehicle door incorporates a plurality of pulleys rotatably supported on the vehicle door, a drum rotatably supported to the vehicle door, and a cable jointed to the window glass, guided to the pulleys and looped around the drum. The drum includes a first spiral groove which supports one end of the cable and a second spiral groove which supports the other end of the cable. The second spiral groove is formed to spiral in a direction opposite the first spiral groove. The extending points of the cable relative to the first spiral groove and the second spiral groove are defined to gradually change where the cable releases from the drum in the radial direction of the drum by the rotation of the drum.
Abstract:
An actuator assembly for a powered sliding door system for an automotive vehicle. The actuator assembly includes a housing having a cavity and a first cable reel and a second cable reel disposed in the cavity. The first cable reel is operatively connected to one end of a cable and the second cable reel is operatively connected to another end of the cable. The actuator assembly includes a transmission assembly being disposed in the cavity and operatively connected to either the first cable reel or the second cable reel. The actuator assembly includes a motor operatively connected to the transmission assembly for rotating the first cable reel and the second cable reel. The actuator assembly further includes a motor bracket operatively connected to the transmission assembly and enclosing the motor. The motor bracket is adjustable relative to the housing to form either a right-hand assembly, left-hand assembly or intermediate assembly for a right-hand and left-hand sliding door for a powered sliding door system.
Abstract:
A cable drive for a motor-vehicle sliding door has a pair of cable sections of predetermined diameter and each having one end attached to the vehicle and an opposite end, a pin fixed on the vehicle, defining an axis, and having a screwthread of a pitch at least equal to the cable diameter, and a gear having a core threaded onto the pin. A pair of coaxial drums having smooth outer surfaces are axially coupled to but rotatable on the core and are each connected to a respective one of the opposite ends of the cable sections. A spring is engaged between and urges the drums rotationally oppositely to tension the cable sections. Interengaging formations on the gear and on the drums rotationally couple the drums to the gear and a reversible drive motor coupled to the gear simultaneously rotates the gear about the axis, axially displaces the gear on the pin, winds up one of the cable sections on the surface of the respective drum, and unwinds the other of the cable sections from the surface of the respective drum.
Abstract:
A cable drum assembly comprises a cable drum for a cable-driven apparatus such as a cable window lifter, in particular of a motor vehicle, which automatically compensates for cable slackness without deforming the window lift system. The cable drum has the advantage that it only removes the so-called genuine cable slackness present when the window lifter is in the relaxed state. The cable drum has a part for compensating the cable slackness which can be moved in relation to the outer cable drum wall and is disposed in a guide inside the cable drum. The part may be connected with one cable end of the cable loop, and that when a load is placed on the cable drum by the cable, the part is arrested on the cable drum. When the cable drum is unloaded, a spring urges the part so as to take up cable slackness. In other embodiments, the part presses against the outer cable drum wall and irreversibly increased its diameter when it is unloaded or rotates with respect to the cable drum and winds in slack cable when the drum is unloaded.
Abstract:
A power window drive device, including a motor, a worm wheel, a drive drum, and the like, whose manufacturing cost is reduced and which has a reduced size. A rotary shaft, driven by a motor, has a flange extending outward and a spline extending from the flange to the end of the rotary shaft. A drive drum, axially coupled to the rotary shaft, has a shaft hole with a spline and resiliently deformable hook pieces. The hook pieces engage the flange of the rotary shaft, thereby making the rotary shaft immovable in the axial direction. By inserting the end of the rotary shaft into the shaft hole of the drive drum, thereby coupling the splines and making the hook pieces engage the flange of the rotary shaft, the rotary shaft is made immovable with respect to the drive drum in both the axial and the circumferential directions. With this construction, there is no need of separate coupling elements, and the work to assemble the device is simplified.
Abstract:
A power operating system for a vehicle door includes a motor operable to power the door open or closed. When a manual movement of the door a predetermined distance is detected while the motor is inactive, the motor is energized so as to move the door in the direction of the detected movement to complete the manually initiated door movement.
Abstract:
In order to produce a window-actuator drive having assembly and service friendliness, particularly by providing a design which enables the gearbox unit to be easily exchanged, the drive is designed as two functionally separate units. A gear housing, a worm gear, and a housing cover which is sealed off from them both makes up a first unit. A cable housing with a cable pulley makes up a second unit. The subassemblies of the first and second unit can be assembled by means of notched, snap-fit connections.
Abstract:
An improved closing device is disclosed for use in powered vehicle door operating systems, or in other closure member operating devices, either manual or powered. In one preferred form of the invention a rotatable member includes cam or recessed surfaces thereon for causing a plunger to move between two positions as the rotatable member is rotated. The plunger includes a magnet thereon for magnetically actuating or deactuating a preferred magnetically actuated reed switch in order to control the rotation of the movable member.
Abstract:
A winding device for cables which is used to wind cables round take-up drums along grooves provided on the outer circumferences thereof, said grooves formed such that the cables will not cause chafing against the side walls of the grooves, so that no unusual noise is caused or the cables will not be worn severely during operation. This winding device can be applied to a window regulator for automobiles.
Abstract:
An improved door elevating system for use with a door having a plurality of horizontal door panels hinged together at their horizontal edges and guided at their vertical edges between a pair of guide rails. The system comprises means to displace the door along the guide rails and having a door lifting cable secured at one end to a bottom portion of the door and extending along a vertical edge of the door. An opposed end of the cable is wound on a rotatable drum rotatably supported in alignment with the vertical edge. The drum has an outer cable receiving surface on which the cable can be wound. The drum further has a vertical bearing side face and a free side face. The free side face faces inwardly of the door and a cable passage is provided inside the drum and has an exit port in the free side face whereby the opposed end of the cable exits. An adjustable fastening means is provided to secure the cable in the passage.
