Abstract: A counterbalance assembly for an appliance has a guide member with a rotatable pulley with a fixed radius and a cam affixed to one side of the pulley and having a varying radius. The cam and the pulley rotate about a pulley axis of rotation as a single unit. The counterbalance has a force applicator that applies a counterbalance force to one of the pulley or cam, and the counterbalance has a connector that couples the other of the pulley or cam to the door. The counterbalance force applies a varying counterbalance torque to the door that is a function of the ratio between the fixed radius and the varying radius over the pivotal range of the door.

Abstract: The invention relates to a system for opening and closing a window aperture, the system comprising: a moveable window panel; a pulley assembly coupled to the moveable window panel; a counterweight; and a pulley actuation mechanism. The moveable panel is heavier than the counterweight, the latter being attached to a first lateral side of the moveable panel via a first part of the pulley assembly. The pulley actuation mechanism is attached to an opposite lateral side of the moveable panel via a second part of the pulley assembly. The pulley actuation mechanism is switchable between energised and non-energised states based on one or more trigger events, between a closing mode whereby the pulley actuation mechanism retracts the second part of the pulley assembly thus imparting an additional closing force to the moveable panel sufficient to raise the moveable panel; and an opening mode whereby the pulley actuation mechanism is non-energised such that a passive opening force is imparted to the moveable panel by virtue of its weight to lower the moveable panel. A system for controlling a window system based on aircraft detection is also disclosed.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a pulley apparatus which can be suppressed in shakiness without being deteriorated in workability in fitting the pulley apparatus to a vehicle body. The pulley apparatus has: a pulley case CA disposed on one side of a vehicle body panel 11a making up the vehicle; a pulley 80 disposed rotatable in the pulley case CA; and a cable guide disposed in the pulley case CA, wherein the cable guide comes in slide contact with a cable 18 led from the same side as the guide rail 11a in the vehicle body panel 11a, and curves the cable 18 along vehicle body panel 11a to direct the cable 18 to the pulley 80. As a result, when a load “F” is applied to the cable 18, the case body 40 can be pressed against the vehicle body panel 11a, thereby suppressing the shakiness of the pulley case CA. Furthermore, since the load presses the pulley case CA against the vehicle body panel 11a, without providing the pulley case (fitting portion), it is possible to prevent an increase in size of the pulley case CA and deterioration of workability in fitting the pulley case CA to the vehicle body.
