An image reading apparatus includes a transparent plate for supporting an original thereon, a reading unit for reading the original, and a one-piece frame member for containing the reading unit, the transparent plate being held the frame member.
Abstract:
An automatic paper feeding device for a document inputting device includes a pick roller (20), separating pads (68) each adapted to be brought into contact with the pick roller (20), a first pair of pick springs (58) and a pick spring (60). The first pair of pick springs (58) are disposed upstream the second pick spring (60) when viewed in a direction in which paper is carried. The first pair of pick springs (58) are disposed in areas widthwise outside the separating pads (68) in the axial direction of the roller, and the second pick spring (60) is disposed at the widthwise central position between the separating pads (68). The first and second pick springs (58, 60) are formed from a metal sheet integrally with each other as a spring unit, and the contact force of the first pair of pick springs (58) disposed upstream with the pick roller (20) is made smaller than that of the second pick spring (60) disposed downstream. The separating pads (68) are formed as a pad unit by branching a web (70) of a rubber sheet into a fork shape. The spring unit and the pad unit are supported together by means of a bracket (76) and presser member (78).

Abstract:
PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for image forming capable of preventing image quality deterioration due to a heat from an optical deflector are provided to prevent a difference in color representations a change in optical characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A light illumination apparatus includes an optical deflector, an optical element, and a case. optical deflector, an optical element, and a case. The optical deflector deflects a light generated from an optical source and illuminates the deflected light. The optical element includes an f-theta lens(163,164) and is received in the light illumination apparatus. The case includes first and second compartments separated by a layer. The optical deflector is installed in the first compartment. The f-theta lens is installed in the second compartment.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: A scanner apparatus, a multi-functional processing unit, and a control method thereof are provided to prevent sheets from being caught by a pressure feed roller and prevent jams and shifts in a feed pitch. CONSTITUTION: A multi-functional processing unit(10) has a transportation path(15) for guiding a check; print heads(21,23) located along the transportation path to print on the check; a scanner head(25) for scanning a printed side of the check; scanner feed rollers(26) for advancing while pressing the check against the scanner head; and a roller retraction mechanism for retracting the scanner feed rollers from the scanner head to open the transportation path. A trailing end part of the sheet ejected by the pressure feed roller is held within the transportation path downstream from the pressure feed roller.
Abstract:
An image scanning device includes a housing, a scanning carriage (21), and a first guide groove (53) and a second guide groove (57). The housing includes a bottom chassis and a side wall member (14a), and configures a document tray. The scanning carriage is movably arranged in the housing. The first guide groove and the second guide groove are arranged at the side wall members of the housing, and guide the scanning carriage in a scanning direction (X).
Abstract:
An opened book can be placed in an apparatus for detecting the content of a book (10) or of pages bound in a book-like manner, said apparatus having one cradle (2) with two support surfaces (3, 3') arranged at an obtuse angle to each other, wherein the book with the opened pages rests upward. The relative position of the support surfaces (3, 3') is adjustable, namely, in at least one direction which is parallel to the plane of the support surface and perpendicular to the bifurcation. In addition, the apparatus has a camera system with at least two camera units (5, 5') which are each positioned above the cradle for recording of one of the opened pages of a book held in the cradle, and a paging apparatus (20) is provided for paging through the pages of a book held in the cradle, wherein the cradle and/or the support surfaces can be moved in an essentially vertical position relative to the camera system.
Abstract:
A CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) array sensor film scanner that can execute the preview, scanning and storage functions without connecting with a computer mainly comprises a main body (10) internally set with a frame body (20), and its bottom connected with a base (30) internally set with a backlight mechanism (32). It is characterized in that a PCBA (printed circuit board assembly) module (40) comprising a main board (41), function key board (42) and screen display panel (43) linked together is mounted on top of the frame body (20), a CMOS array image sensor module (44) of an image sensor (441) jointed with an optical camera lens (442) and an image processing and storage module (45) are set on the main board (41). An internal-set power processing device (31) is set in the base (30), and a backlight mechanism (32) is set at the position relative to the optical camera lens (442). And, a colored LCD (liquid crystal display) (11) and a memory card inserting hole (12) are set at the outside of the main body (10). The optical camera lens (442) is utilized to access the film images and focused to form images in the image sensor (441) then the images are transformed into digital data. And, the digitized image processing is proceeded through the image processing and storage module (45). And, the images can be previewed, edited and stored in memory card by the function button of colored LCD display (11) of the main body (10) or transferred to the computer. And, the images stored in the memory card can be inserted in the memory card inserting hole (12) then proceed directly the repeat playing or editing through image process software and scanning the image processing and storage module (45).
