A detector located on or near an ear piece may automatically detect whether a left or right ear or neither ear is wearing the ear piece. A signal mixer may automatically apply a correct configuration to signals transmitted to or from the ear piece according to whether the left or right ear or neither ear is determined to be wearing the ear piece. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
The adjustable headset is an all in one device that include an adjustable support band, an adjustable screen, a first and second ear cover, a computer system, a communications system, and a power source. The adjustable support band connects to each ear cover, allowing the virtual goggles to rest atop a user's head, with the ear covers being adjacent to a user's ears. The screen is attached to the ear covers by adjustable screen bars, which allow a user to change the distance, angle, and general orientation of the screen. The computer system is capable of storing and running software programs, such as an operating system, as well as interfacing with connected devices by means of a set of connection ports, located on the ear covers, or the communications system. Thus the virtual goggles serve to adjust to meet individual comfort needs and interface with a wide variety of technologies.

A wired headset (1) comprising an earphone (2) with an earphone housing (12) a speaker and a wearing device (33) for attaching the earphone housing (12) to the head of the user. The earphone (2) further comprising a wire (3) for connecting the earphone (2) to external equipment, the wire (3) extending from the earphone housing (12) in an essentially downwards direction at a wire position (13) at the lower end of the earphone housing (12) during use. The earphone housing (12) is essentially mirror symmetric about a first plane (32), which is orthogonal to the first side (9), and which extends through the wire position (13) and the centre (8) of the earphone housing (12). The wearing device (33) extends from the earphone housing (12) at an attachment position (14), which lies at the upper end of the earphone housing (12). The attachment position can be a. first attachment position (14A) for holding the earphone housing (12) at the left ear or a second attachment position (14B) for holding the earphone (2) at the right ear, the positions (14A, 14B) being mirror symmetric about the first plane (32).

A sound producing device comprising a sound producing member adapted to fit at an entrance of an ear canal of a user's ear, and a hooking member pivotable about the sound producing member between a first configuration wherein the hooking member is hooked to the user's ear, and a second configuration wherein the hooking member is unhooked from the user's ear. The hooking member comprising a cord holder pivotable at a first end about the sound producing member, and a cord held by the cord holder at a second end of the cord holder. The cord is shaped in a manner such that it curves from the front of the user's ear to the back of the user's ear in the first configuration, wherein the cord holder has a substantially larger cross-sectional area compared with the cross-sectional area of the cord for aiding the user to grip onto the cord holder during use of the sound producing device.

A communications headset (1) to be worn on an ear of a user. The headset (1) comprises: a housing (2) provided with a speaker and a microphone, and a hook (4) connected to the housing (2) through a joint, which hook (4) is configured for being positioned above and behind the ear (6) of a user when the headset (1) is worn by the user. The headset (1) is further configured with rotation means that allows the hook (4) to be rotated about an axis (B) between a position in which it is located close to the housing (2) and a position in which it protrudes from the housing (2). The housing (2) is provided with a concha-engaging part (3) that protrudes from the housing (2)and is adapted to be positioned in the concha of the ear when the headset (1) is worn by the user.

A sound delivery system (10) such as a hearing aid, a telephone headset, a multimedia headset, or other communications device is capable of being used on either left or right ear of the user. The sound delivery system (10) includes an integral case (22) and ear hook (24) having a rotatable connection for receiving a sound delivery tube (14). The sound delivery tube is preformed in a generally L-shaped tube. The sound delivery tube has an eartip (16) at one end configured to be received in the ear canal of the user to secure the end of the sound delivery tube in the ear canal. The tube can be rotated about an axis between a left-ear position and a right-ear position.

This disclosure describes an interchangeable earpiece (10) for stereo listening. The earpiece (10) rests comfortably behind the ear. Regardless of the activity which the person undertakes, whether it is aerobic exercising, weight lifting, or any other sport, the earpiece (10) remains securely in place. The earpiece (10) supports a speaker (30), and the conductor (50) to the speaker (30) is set into a groove (80) in the earpiece. This allows the earpiece to be removed from the speaker to change the sizes, colors or to simply clean the earpiece. The earpiece with the groove can be simply made by a single molding, and no further work is required other than simply laying the conductor in the groove of the earpiece and attaching the speaker.
