    Abstract: A process for the treatment of a hydrocarbon blend containing nitrogen-containing compounds to effect removal of a portion of the nitrogen-containing compounds therefrom comprising (a) providing a hydrocarbon blend containing nitrogen-containing compounds; (b) contacting the hydrocarbon blend with a solvent which is characterised by (i) a liquid phase density at 25°C not less than 0.90g/cm³ and (ii) a Hansen polar solubility parameter δ P , and a Hansen hydrogen bonding parameter δ H , such that at 25°C 9.0 (cal/cm³) ½ P + δ H ) ½

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for ammoxidizing C₃ to C₅ mono-olefins to a,b-mono-unsaturated acyclic nitriles having 3 to 5 carbon atoms and HCN by introducing such mono-olefins molecular oxygen and ammonia into a reaction zone into vapor phase contact with a solid ammoxidation catalyst, wherein the mol ratio of introduced molecular oxygen and ammonia to said introduced mono-olefin is at least 1.5 and 1.0, respectively, wherein said catalyst contains the elements and proportions indicated by the empirical formula:
