Abstract: PURPOSE: A channel guide method for providing a broadcasting service and system thereof are provided to enable a user to receive desired program information by enabling the user to search programs or to automatically receive recommendation channel information. CONSTITUTION: A channel guide system classifies a contracted broadcasting service provider(700). In case a terminal requests the reception of information or performs login, the identification of the broadcasting service provider is started. The channel guide system classifies the broadcasting provider based on the personal information of a user. The channel guide system provides recommendation channels in which are related to the personal information of the user based on the classified broadcasting service provider(710).
