    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for a UE and its serving base station to coordinate the activation and deactivation of measurement gaps for performing positioning measurements by the UE using target positioning reference signals (PRS) during bandwidth part (BWP) switching. The UE may be configured by the serving base station to have dedicated measurement gaps. The UE determines if a legacy measurement gap used for mobility measurements or a scheduled data transmission collides with the dedicated measurement gaps. If there is a collision, the UE performs the mobility measurement using the legacy measurement gap or transmits the scheduled data. If there is no collision, the UE receives the PRS to perform the positioning measurement during the dedicated measurement gaps. In one embodiment, based on the status of the active BWP and the target PRS, the UE or the base station may activate or deactivate measurement gaps for the positioning measurements.

    Abstract: Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capable wireless device configured to perform sidelink cellular communications. The wireless device performs sidelink communications using a two-stage sidelink control information (SCI) protocol including Stage 1 SCI messaging carried on a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH), and Stage 2 SCI messaging carried on a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH). The SCI messaging may be encoded using polar codes. Channel interleaving is utilized on the SCI to interleave the SCI between two or more layers of a MIMO transmission system. Scrambling for Stage 2 SCI messaging is performed based on the result of a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) performed on Stage 1 SCI messaging. Collisions between sidelink HARQ feedback to be transmitted to a base station and other transmissions is avoided based on a priority analysis of the sidelink HARQ feedback.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for a base station (BS) to configure default and supplementary sync signals (SS) at sub-band bandwidths in a wireless communication system. The supplementary SS may be configured in response to a determination that the BS is in wireless communications with a UE using a single narrow band radio-frequency chain. The BS may configure the supplementary SS to be proximate in frequency to a PDCCH search space currently in use by the UE. The default SS may be configured to support initial access and may have a shorter periodicity, while the supplementary SS may be configured to not support initial access and may have a longer periodicity. The BS may additionally or alternatively configure a tracking reference signal (RS), wherein the tracking RS is configured on-demand based on a current network load of the BS. The tracking RS may be configured at a sub-band bandwidth, wherein the sub-band bandwidth is selected based on a bandwidth allocated to an active UE in wireless communication with the BS.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and circuitries are provided for performing sidelink communication. An example method indicates a frequency resource reservation in sidelink control information (SCI). The method includes identifying a transport block (TB) for transmission to a UE; determining a total number of sub-channels (N SL ) in a resource pool for sidelink communication, a number of sub-channels (L sub ) of the TB, a first starting sub-channel index x 1 of a first retransmission of the TB, and a second starting sub-channel index x 2 of a second retransmission of the TB. The method includes determining a frequency resource indication value (FRIV) based on N SL , L SUB , x 1 , and x 2 , wherein the FRIV represents a result of a predetermined function of L sub , x 1 , and x 2 that generates a unique value for possible combinations of L sub , x 1 , and x 2 . The FRIV is encoded in SCI and the SCI is transmitted to the UE.
