Abstract: Dehydrogenation of 2-30C alkanes comprises dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene to form a hydrogen containing waste gas stream, and heterogeneous catalyzed dehydrogenation of a 2-30C alkane in at least one reaction zone mixed with at least a portion of the hydrogen containing waste stream to form the corresponding olefin. A process for the dehydrogenation of 2-30C alkanes comprises: (1) dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene to form a hydrogen containing waste gas stream; and (2) heterogeneous catalyzed dehydrogenation of a 2-30C alkane in at least one reaction zone to form the corresponding olefin whereby a hydrogen containing gas stream is mixed with the dehydrogenation reaction mixture in at least one reaction zone such that at least a portion of the hydrogen containing waste stream from step (1) is mixed with the alkane reaction mixture.

Abstract: Preparation of alkylaryl compounds comprises production of a 12C-olefin mixture and reaction of the 12C-olefin mixture with an aromatic hydrocarbon in the presence of an alkylation catalyst to form alkylaromatic compounds whereby additional linear olefins are added before the reaction. A process for the preparation of alkylaryl compounds (I) comprises: (A) production of a 12C-olefin mixture by trimerization of butenes or dehydrogenation of 12C-alkanes, with optionally pre- or post isomerization, or by the production of a 12C-olefin mixture by oligomerization of ethene, followed by isomerization; and (B) reaction of the 12C-olefin mixture from (A) with an aromatic hydrocarbon in the presence of an alkylation catalyst to form alkylaromatic compounds whereby additional linear olefins are added before the reaction. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for the production of alkylarylsulfonates (II) by sulfonation and neutralization of alkylaryl compounds (I); (2) the alkylaryl compounds (I); (3) the alkylarylsulfonates (II); and (4) washing- or cleaning agents containing the alkylarylsulfonates (II).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the regeneration of a dehydrogenation catalyst, comprising the steps (a)-(f): (a) flushing with inert gas at a pressure of 0.5 to 2.0 bar and a gas loading of 1 000 to 50 000 h-1; (b) passage of an oxygen-containing gas mixture, containing an inert gas, at a pressure of 2 to 20 bar and a gas loading of 1,000 to 50,000 h-1, over a period of 0.25 to 24 h with sequential or continuous increase of the oxygen concentration from an initial value of 0.01 to 1 vol. % O2 to a final value of 10 to 25 vol. % O2; (c) optional passage of an oxygen-containing gas mixture , containing an inert gas, at a pressure of 0.5 to 20 bar and a gas loading of 10 to 500h-1 over a period of 0.25 to 100 h with an oxygen concentration of 10 to 25 vol. % O2; (d) optional repeated rapid cyclical pressure changes of a factor of 2 to 20, within the range 0.5 to 20 bar; (e) flushing with an iner t gas; (f) activation of the catalyst with hydrogen, whereby at least one of steps (c) or (d) is carried out and the whole regeneration process occurs at a temperature of between 300 and 800 ~C.
