Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for increasing the dry biomass of a plant via increasing the carbon assimilation by treating a plant, a part of the plant, the locus where the plant is growing or is intended to grow and/or the plant propagules with at least one insecticide. The invention also relates to a method for increasing the biomass of the fruit of a plant via increasing the carbon assimilation, the fruit containing 5 to 25% by weight of residual moisture, based on the total weight of the fruit, by treating a plant, a part of the plant, the locus where the plant is growing or is intended to grow and/or the plant propagules with at least one insecticide. The invention further relates to a method for increasing the carbon dioxide sequestration from the atmosphere by treating a plant, a part of the plant, the locus where the plant is growing or is intended to grow and/or the plant propagules with at least one insecticide as described below.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a mixture comprising, as active components, i) an insecticidal compound I selected from the following nicotinic receptor agonists/antagonists compounds: acetamiprid, clothianidin, dinotefuran, imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, and nitenpyram; and ii) N-(3',4',5'-trifluorobiphenyl-2-yl)-3-difluoromethyl-1-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide (fluxapyroxad) as compound II and also pesticidal composition comprising a liquid or solid carrier and a mixture as described above. Also disclosed is a method for controlling pests and/or improving the health of plants, wherein a) a pest, their habitat, their breeding ground, their locus or a plant to be protected against pest attach wherein the locus of the pest is not in or on a human, the soil or plant propagule; or b) the plant, the locus where the plant is growing or is expected to grow or plant propagation material from which the plant grows; are treated with an effective amount of a mixture as defined above.
