Abstract: The present invention provides a method for fabricating a medical tubing. Th e method includes the steps of: (1) providing a material selected from the gro up consisting of ethylene homopolymers and ethylene copolymers, wherein the ethylene copolymer are obtained by copolymerizing ethylene with a comonomer selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl olefins, lower alkyl olefins, lower alkyl esters of a carboxylic acid and lower alkene esters of a carboxylic acid, the lower alkyl and lower alkene each have from 3-18 carbon s, or blends thereof; (2) providing an extruder with an extrusion die; (3) extruding the material into a medical tubing; (4) providing a surface modifi er solution; (5) preheating the surface modifier solution to a temperature with in the range of 50-80 ~C; and (6) applying the preheated solution onto the tubi ng as it exits the extrusion die when the tubing is in a molten state or a semi - molten state.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for fabricating flexible medical tubings comprising the steps of providing a tubing of a polymer material, the tubing having a longitudinal axis and an initial diameter, orienting the tubing along the longitudinal axis of the tubing to reduce the diameter of the tubing to define a oriented diameter, and applying heat to the oriented tubing to heat set the tubing to maintain dimensional stability of the tubing over a temperature to which the tubing will normally be exposed.

Abstract: A system, a method and administration lines are provided for self-priming of a solution delivery system. The administration lines are arranged such that resultant forces acting on the lines create different forces applied on each lumen resulting in solution flowing in one of the lumen undergoing a higher isostatic pressure. The lumens forming the administration line may be formed from concentric tubings or formed from separate tubings extending varied lengths into the solution container. As a result, automatic priming of the administration line and the solution delivery system is provided.

Abstract: A multiple layer structure comprising a skin layer composed of a polypropylene copolymer with styrene ethylene-butene styrene block copolymer within a range of 0-20% by weight skin layer, and, a radio frequency ("RF") susceptible layer adhered to the skin layer. The RF layer has a first component of a propylene based polymer, a second component of a nonpropylene polyolefin, a third component of a radio frequency susceptible polymer, and a fourth component of a polymeric compatibilizing agent.
