Abstract:
An adsorbent material, and method for making same, is disclosed wherein an application is made on the adsorbent material of a polymer coating with surface porosity. The product adsorbent material retains it adsorptive properties, while the coating provides advantages such as reduced dusting. For particulate or pellet forms of adsorbents, a reduction in attrited dust is useful for improved performance in emission control systems. The coating may also be used to color the product.
Abstract:
A heating system has been incorporated into the commercial space fixture of a plastic chair mat to provide a space-saving heating system. The material for the plastic mat is chosen based on its thermal and electrical properties to provide necessary safety and support convenience for occupied rolling office chairs. Materials include vinyl, acrylic, and polyethylene. The heating elements are placed into the body of the plastic material, which is connected to conventional electrical elements, such as power source, GFIs, thermostats, and safety shut offs, outside the plastic mat. Other more complicated electronics, such as an anti-static mechanism, may be included as needed by the environment.
Abstract:
The present contrivance is an apparatus, system, and method for an electronic payment system. The present contrivance provides an electronic payment system that provides advertising for compensation. Further the present contrivance provides an anonyfier that can separate accesser identity information from transaction information. Further, the present contrivance provides an advertising targeting system that determines advertising that does not conflict with providers provisions. Further, the present contrivance provides a payment release system based on delivery verification. Further, the present contrivance provides a credit auction providing accessers and creditors with a dynamic credit market. The present contrivance also provides a system that converts identification cards and other forms of ID into non repudiation devices. The present contrivance also enables the extension of closed loop payment systems.
Abstract:
A method for completing a well in a single trip, including: inserting a completion tool assembly into the well, the completion tool assembly having a gravel packing assembly and a service tool assembly slidably positioned substantially within an interior cavity in the gravel packing assembly; removably coupling the service tool assembly and the gravel packing assembly; plugging at a first location, whereby fluid is blocked from flowing through the interior channel; diverting fluid blocked by the plugging at the first location through a first fluid flow path to an exterior of the completion tool assembly; circulating a gravel pack slurry through the completion tool assembly; plugging at a second location, whereby fluid is blocked from flowing through the interior channel; diverting fluid blocked by the plugging at the second location through a second flow path that reenters the interior channel at a location distal of the first and second plugging locations; and circulating a filter cake stimulating fluid through the well completion assembly.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described that determine a threshold value for an authorization check, such as an age verification, that is performed at a point of sale or other point of access control where access to a product, service, location, event, or the like, is restricted to individuals who meet an authorization threshold. In embodiments associated with purchases that comprise a variety of items for purchase and a variety of associated age-related authorization thresholds, systems and methods are described for determining an age-related authorization threshold for the purchase as a whole that will authorize the purchase of the items. In embodiments in which a purchaser's authorization is checked with respect to a determined threshold value, a record of the authorization check can be stored and can subsequently be retrieved to verify that an authorization check for the encounter was carried out using the determined threshold value.
Abstract:
Color-coated activated carbon and method of preparation are disclosed in the product of application of a thin, continuous coating of an insoluble colorant-containing polymer emulsion on the material, without causing a reduction in adsorption capacity of the untreated activated carbon. In addition, the resultant avoidance of carbon dust leads to improved performance for contaminant removal.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus for simultaneously flooding a sample (e.g., a semiconductor wafer) to control charge and inspecting the sample. The apparatus includes a charged particle beam generator arranged to generate a charged particle beam substantially towards a first portion of the sample and a flood gun for generating a second beam towards a second portion of the sample. The second beam is generated substantially simultaneously with the inspection beam. The apparatus further includes a detector arranged to detect charged particles originating from the sample portion. In a further implementation, the apparatus further includes an image generator for generating an image of the first portion of the sample from the detected particles. In one embodiment, the sample is a semiconductor wafer. In a method aspect, a first area of a sample is flooded with a flood beam to control charge on a surface of the sample. A second area of the sample is inspected with an inspection beam. The second area comprises at least a portion of the first area flooded by the flood beam. The inspection beam moves in tandem with the flood beam. In another aspect of the present invention, methods and apparatus are provided for controlling the charge buildup of an area of the sample by an electrode having a voltage applied to it and through which the flood beam and charged particles emitted from the area of the sample can pass.
