Abstract:
A hearing assistance device, comprising a microphone to receive sound, signal processing electronics electrically connected to the microphone, a receiver electrically connected to the signal processing electronics and a switch electrically connected to the signal processing electronics, wherein the switch includes conductive silicone adapted to change the switch from a first state to a second state when activated.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a keyboard and to a method for producing a keyboard for activating electrical switching functions, comprising: a first substrate having a first contact structure; a second substrate having a second contact structure, and; an intermediate layer that holds both contact structures at a distance from one another and enables a contacting of both contact structures when pressure is exerted upon predetermined areas of the keyboard. Both contact structures are imprinted by means of a mass printing process.
Abstract:
A key has a varying response depending on the manner of depression. The key comprises at least a base and a switching element arranged curved relative to one another. Between the switching element and the base is a contact area where the switching element touches the base. When the switching element is depressed towards the base, the edge of the contact area between the switching element and the base moves along the surface of the base. The response of the switch is determined by observing the location of the edge of said contact area relative to the base.
Abstract:
A pressure actuated switching device is made by applying at least a first layer of fluid conductive polymeric coating material to a surface of a sheet of green rubber material. The conductive polymeric coating is solidified to form an electrode, and the sheet of green rubber material is vulcanized. Two strips of green rubber may be simultaneously processed and then joined such that the respective layers of conductive coating are in spaced apart opposing relationship. The conductive polymeric coating may optionally be formulated with green rubber. Optionally, a blowing agent may be included in the conductive coating formulation so as to provide a cellular polymeric foam piezoresistive material from which the electrode is constructed. The green rubber sheets may be processed by a continuous rotary method or by a linear method using a clamping press having opening and closing dies for heating and joining the strips of green rubber.

Abstract:
In an electrostatic capacitance sensor, an electrode is formed on a base board. The electrode is covered with a resist. A conductive rubber includes a first face and a second face. The first face has a first area and is opposed to the resist. The second face is opposed to the first face. The second face has a second area which is larger than the first area. A flexible click rubber is attached on the second face of the conductive rubber for providing pressure contact of the conductive rubber with respect to the resist.
Abstract:
A switch assembly includes a plurality of electrical devices and a plurality of user activated switches. The plurality of electrical devices each include a control terminal. Each of the electrical devices causes a different distinguishable output to be provided when a control signal is asserted on the control terminal of one of the plurality of electrical devices. The plurality of user activated switches include carbon-coated contacts. Each of the user activated switches when asserted provides the control signal to the control terminal of one of the plurality of electrical devices.
Abstract:
Electrical apparatus such as a timer for use in a water filter is formed integrally with a sealed housing. The housing has a resilient, depressible surface from which a projection extends. At least an end surface of the projection is electrically conductive. A pair of spaced-apart electrical contacts are located close to the end surface of the projection. Resilient deflection of the depressible surface causes the projection to come into contact with the electrical contacts, thereby making an electrical connection between them.
Abstract:
An EL sheet diaphragm including a diffusion type EL sheet having a diaphragm portion exhibiting a dome shape and a flange supporting portion disposed about the outer circumference of the diffusion type EL sheet. The diffusion type EL sheet including a transparent film having an upper surface and a lower surface, a transparent electrode layer formed on the lower surface of the transparent film, a light emitting layer formed on the transparent electrode, a dielectric layer formed on the light emitting layer, a rear electrode layer formed on the dielectric layer, and an insulating layer formed on the rear electrode layer. The diffusion type EL sheet emits light from the diaphragm portion of the upper surface of the transparent film. The diffusion type EL sheet bows outwardly in an at-rest state such that the upper surface of the transparent film exhibits a convex shape, and bows inwardly when depressed for operation such that the upper surface of the transparent film exhibits a concave shape.
