    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the shape of a contact lens which is capable of correcting the aberrations of a high degree measured with the patient's eye by limiting the occurrence of the undesirable aberrations when the lens is worn to the eye and is adapted to meet individual characteristics. SOLUTION: This method includes a step of measuring the optical aberrations of the eye to be corrected, a step of determining the shape of the back of the lens from the determined anatomical area of the cornea in order to obtain a prescribed mechanical behavior of the lens when the system is placed above the eye, a step of measuring the optical aberrations of the eye to be corrected and a step of determining the shape of the front of the lens from the measured optical aberrations of the eye combined with the data relating to the shape determined with respect to the back of the lens in order to correct the aberrations. This system has a measuring unit for measuring the anatomical area and aberrations of the eye and an electronic computation unit.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the clamping device which improves the machining speed, shape fidelity, size trackability, and characteristics regarding the axis of a lens by providing a coaxial clamping jaw part for clamping surfaces of a blank and allowing respective parts of the machine cooperate with one surface of the blank. SOLUTION: The clamping device includes the clamping jaw part 10 in which a plate 11 and a main body 12 are incorporated. The plate 11 has a bearing member 13 which is so applied as to cooperate a concave surface 2 of the blank 1 to be trimmed. As well as the clamping jaw part 10, another fixed jaw part which has its center aligned with the axis of the bank 1 cooperates with a projection convex surface of the blank 1. The main body 12 is hollow and a blank cylindrical housing 15 is incorporated, and by the housing 15, the clamping jaw part 10 is mounted on the tip 6 of a spindle 5 of a trimming machine. The plate 11 and main body 12 are bound so as to rotate together through the cooperation between a facet and the surfaces.

SOLUTION: This apparatus has a holding means 10 to hold a template 11 at a fixing position and a carriage 12 which is mobile to the holding means 10 to support a filler 14 at an end part of a rod and reads the positions of mounting holes in the peripheral area of the template 11, especially the contour for the front of glass. In this case, a detector 24 is contained having at least one element to constrain its movement together with the carriage 12 located at a specified distance from the axis of the rod supporting the filler 14 on the same side of the center area of the holding means 10.
