Abstract:
In the method and apparatus (1) for drying a fluid or wet product, a drying chamber (2), an air inlet, a feed tank (3), and a product recovery system (14) are provided. During operation, a fluid or wet product is fed from the feed tank into the drying chamber at a predetermined flow rate, and finished dried product is fed into the drying chamber at a flow rate corresponding to controllable settings. The fluid or wet product is mixed with the finished dried product in the drying chamber. The mixture of fluid or wet product and finished dried product is dried in a gas containing finished dried product, and the product is recovered from the gas in the product recovery system.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method for reducing the amount of coarser particles from a stream of flue gas prior to treatment by a spray dryer absorption process (SDA). The method comprises the steps of directing a stream of flue gas containing entrained particles of varying sizes through a curve, thereby subjecting the particles to a centrifugal effect, collecting the particles predominately of the coarser size at a particles collecting means provided in the outer circumference of the curve, dispersing the flue gas reduced in particles of coarse particle sizes into the chamber of a spray dryer absorption apparatus, wherein the particles content of the original flue gas stream is above 20 g/Nm 3 . Also an apparatus for performing the method and a gas disperser is disclosed. The method substantially reduces the cost of the entire plant for treating flue gas having a high content of entrained coarse particles by eliminating the need for a particle pre-collector upstream the SDA.
Abstract:
A method of controlling a spray dryer apparatus having a spray dryer chamber (1), an air inlet (2), an inlet air control system (11) including a fan (13) and an air heater (14), a feed inlet (3), and an exhaust air outlet (4), comprising determining a content (Y) of moisture of inlet air, determining an inlet air temperature set value (Tinlet) in dependence of the inlet air moisture content (Y), determining an inlet air temperature measured value of inlet air between the air heater (14) and the spray dryer chamber (1), and regulating the inlet air temperature in dependence of the inlet air temperature set value and the inlet air temperature measured value, and determining an outlet air temperature of the exhaust air and regulating an inlet air flow rate in dependence of the outlet air temperature.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to freeze-drying apparatus (1) having a drying chamber (10) and condenser chambers (30, 40) positioned laterally to the drying chamber (10) and separated therefrom by side walls (32, 42), wherein openings (33a-b, 44a-b) in the side walls (32, 42) are positioned within a stack height (HS) of a heating arrangement (50) positioned in the drying chamber (10).
