PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of a graphic separation function for calculating and adjusting an image. SOLUTION: The method includes a step of generating a standard block attribute file and a step of comparing a graphic separation result with the standard block attribute file so as to display a graphic separation function data table. Furthermore, the method of a graphic separation function for adjusting an image according to the present invention includes a step of comparing a graphic separation result with the standard block attribute file to generate the graphic separation function data table, and a step of, according to the graphic separation function data table, deciding whether to use another graphic separation algorithm or parameters to perform another graphic separation. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided scanner for scanning twice. SOLUTION: Two open holes are provided in a bottom part of an intake port cassette. A pickup roll and a partition roll respectively penetrate through the open holes. A double-sided scanner scans from documents laminated in the bottom of documents. The documents to be scanned are sequentially arranged by scanning from the documents laminated at the bottom, and are arranged in the order identical to the documents before being scanned. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic feeder apparatus which performs an image detection operation of either one side or both sides in accordance with any document without restriction of paper length. SOLUTION: The automatic feeder apparatus comprises at least a feeder mechanism, a transfer route, first and second guide routes, a first guide unit having first and second guide plates, a second guide unit, first and second temporary storage routes, and first to fifth roller sets, wherein one end of the first guide plate pivots between the first and second guide routes, and the other end abuts downward on the second guide plate thereunder. With this configuration, the paper from the second guide route passes the upper surface of the second guide plate, opens the lower end surface of the first guide plate, enters the first and second temporary storage routes, is temporarily stored in the first or second temporary storage route, passes the upper surface of the first guide plate, and is guided to the first guide route. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for quantizing pixel values of images, and more specifically for conducting appropriate random processing for the same. SOLUTION: The method for processing the images includes steps of computing error values caused by quantizing each of a plurality of the pixels of the images when quantizing the pixel values of the images; making the error values resulting from the quantization correspond to the differences between the quantized values generated after the pixels are quantized and the original values given before the pixels are quantized; and adjusting a plurality of the adjacent pixels to the original values given before the pixels are quantized by utilizing the quantized error values, a plurality of weight values, and a plurality of random numbers.
