Abstract: An air-conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to perform the air-conditioning operation for an area where a user mainly works. An air-conditioner(100) comprises a user activity sensor(130) and a control device. Abstract: A laundry washing machine and a control method are provided to increase the efficiency of the washing by performing the swelling process for the estimated time. A laundry washing machine comprises a contamination sensor(22) and a controller. The contamination sensor senses a pollution level of the water in which the laundry is dipped. The contamination sensor is the sensor detecting the turbidity of the water. The controller determines that the swelling state of the laundry is the saturation, if the change rate of the pollution level of the water is under the pre-set value. The controller makes the swelling process complete, if the swelling state of the laundry is the saturation.
