    Abstract: A hood stay of a vehicle is provided to improve maintenance workability of an engine room and freedom of design. A hood stay of a vehicle comprises a rail(20) fixed horizontally in an outer panel of a cowl top, a gas lifter(22) supporting free ends of a cylinder and a piston on the rail and expanding/contracting, and a pair of links(30a,30b) connected to both ends of the gas lifter and the rear of an inner panel of a hood panel. The cylinder and piston are supported on the rail by rollers provided to each free end of the cylinder and piston. One ends of the links are supported by support pins provided at the free ends of the cylinder and piston.
