    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector having a simple structure capable of detecting reductive air pollutant suspended in the air by a simple operation. SOLUTION: This detector 1 comprises a detection member 10 formed by carrying basic aqueous solution of a silver-ammonia complex compound having discoloring property by being reduced on the surface of a base material 12 such as a plastic sheet, a glass plate or the like in the form of a detection chemical (detection layer) 11. For example, formaldehyde in the air is detected by using the detector, to thereby enable to cope precisely with an indoor environmental pollution problem called house-sick syndrome. As an execution sample, the detection member is formed by applying dispersion liquid acquired by dispersing a particlate aluminum oxide uniformly in the basic aqueous solution of the silver-ammonia complex compound on the glass plate by a spinner. When the detection member is stood still in the air atmosphere having the formaldehyde including concentration of 10 ppm, a white color on the surface of the detection member is changed into a black color after ten minutes.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a DNA ink which is used for the identification of an individual and can produce a thin film having an unforgeable surface pattern for the identification, and a medium for the identification. SOLUTION: An aqueous solution of a DNA molecule is mixed with a cationic surfactant to produce a polyion complex compound of the DNA and the cationic surfactant through the reaction of the phosphate group of the DNA molecule with the acidic group of the cationic surfactant. The polyion complex compound is dissolved in an organic medium to give a DNA ink. The DNA ink is cast on a base plate to form a thin film of the polyion complex compound. The surface pattern on the thin film is so complicated that the use of this DNA ink can realize the preparation of a thin film having an unforgeable surface pattern for the identification of an individual.

SOLUTION: The adhesive strength generated between a lubricant layer 5 of the magnetic recording medium 1 which is deposited with at least a magnetic metallic film 3 on one main surface of a nonmagnetic base 2 and has the lubricant layer 5 on the outermost layer of the one main surface on the side formed with the magnetic metallic film 3 and a probe is measured and the surface existence amount of the lubricant in the lubricant layer 5 and the distribution stage thereof are analyzed by the standard deviation of the adhesive strength.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve running performance, wear resistance and durability by forming a carbon film on a magnetic layer and holding a branched carboxylic acid monoester as a lubricant to secure excellent lubricating property under a various use condition and to maintain the lubricating effect over a long period. SOLUTION: When the carbon film is formed on the magnetic layer and the branched carboxylic acid monoester is applied on the carbon film as the lubricant, a lubricating film is formed by the adsorption of an ester of a polar group part of the lubricant molecule on the carbon film and the cohesive force between long chain hydrocarbon groups of the hydrophobic group part. The branched carboxylic acid monoester has a structure of a chemical formula containing hydrophobic groups R1-R3, R1CH(R2)COOR3. The lubricating effect is maintained without the degradation of properties at a low temp. and high temp. and the use of a fluorine based harmful material causing environment pollution is suppressed to prevent adverse effect against environment.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve dispersion characteristic of magnetic powder in a magnetic layer and realize excellent electro-magnetic conversion characteristic and running durability by containing class 3 amino group of the polarity group into the binder of magnetic layer mainly composed of binder and magnetic powder and then adding, in the optimum amount, the dikentone compound of the magnetic powder surface processing agent. SOLUTION: A magnetic layer is formed, on a non-magnetic carrier, by coating of magnetic paint mainly composed of the binder and magnetic power of the specific surface area of 35m /g or more. The class 3 amine group of polarity group, matel and diketone compound having the complex forming function are contained in the binder as the powder surface processing agent. The diketone compound is expressed by the formula I, any one of R1 to R3 has carboxyl group, the others are selected from H, halogen and alkyl group, aryl group, complex aromatic group replaced by these H and halogen and these are deposited by absorption to the magnetic powder surface to improve dispersion characteristic of powder. Therefore, amount of addition is set to 1.0 to 5.0 part by weight. Moreover, class 3 amino group is expressed by the formula II or III. Amount of contents is set to 0.001 to 1mmol/g to acquire the mutual effect between the interfaces of binder and surface processing agent.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the adhesion of foreign matter on a magnetic head and to remove the foreign matter adhered to the magnetic head. SOLUTION: An intermediate layer and a magnetic layer are formed on a nonmagnetic base. In this case, a soln. prepd. by adding 0.1 to 1.0% chelating agent to a solvent is applied on the surface of the magnetic layer. The chelating agent is added at 1.0×10 to 1.0×10 g/m to the coating material for the intermediate layer at the time of forming the intermediate layer, by which the added chelating agent is oozed through the holes of the magnetic layer. The existence amt. of the chelating agent existing on the surface of the magnetic material is specified to 1.0 to 100mg/m .

At this time, the liquid chelating agent 5 arrives at the cotton 3 by a capirally phenomenon to stick to a cleaning roller 8. When this cleaning roller 8 is in contact with the magnetic head, the metal oxide produced on the surface of the magnetic head becomes complex to be allowed to hardly remain on the magnetic head.
