Abstract:
A method of measurement of agrotechnical spraying, in which parts of a plant covered with chemical substances, in particular agrochemicals, are analyzed by comparison with references present in a database, characterize in that UV radiation is used in excitation bands 280 nm, 300 nm, 340 nm, 400 nm and 450 nm, exposed cyclically in turn for about 10 milliseconds to perform at least 20 measurements of the spectres of excited luminescence of a sprayed plant sample, after which a plant and chemical substance are identified by comparing the obtained spectra with the references contained in a computer database, and through the analysis of the amplitude of the signals of the chemical substance, its amount on the tested plant sample is determined. The invention enables identification and quantification of the amounts of the substance when spraying cultivated plants with agrochemicals, also after the process of evaporation and after penetration of agrochemicals into plants.
Abstract:
An optical measurement instrument, which is equipped with transportation protection, includes a body structure (201), a mechanical support element(202) for supporting an optical interface, a moveably supported receptable element (211) for receiving a sample plate and located between the mechanical support element and the body structure, and a detachable transportation protection element (212-215) arranged to mechanically restrict movements of the receptable element and the mechanical support element. The transportation protection element is arranged to be pressed between the mechanical support element (202) and the body structure (201).Hence, for the transportation protection, there is no need to usee.g. a bolt that may be more laborious to install and remove than the transportation protection element to be pressed between the mechanical support element (202) and the body structure (201).
Abstract:
Thermally controlled enclosures that can be used with gas analyzers are described. The enclosures incorporate one or more phase changing materials that buffer ambient and internal heat loads to reduce the power consumption demand of mechanical or electronic heating apparatus. Maintenance of gas analyzer equipment at a consistent temperature can be important to achieving stable and reproducible results. Related systems, apparatus, methods, and/or articles are also described.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for determining a property of an analyte using a sensing layer whose optical response changes with the analyte. The apparatus includes a housing (12) with an optically transparent window (13) for receiving the sensing layer (36). The window passes optical stimulation (41) to the sensing layer and the optical response (43, 45) from the sensing layer. A stimulating light emitter (40) is coupled to a first face of an optical body (38) monolithically coupled to the window and a light detector (42, 44) is coupled to a second face of the optical body for receiving the response. The optical response changes as the concentration of the analyte changes. Reference molecules (62) included in the sensing layer can provide a calibration signal to a second light detector mounted on a third face of the optical body. The first, second and third faces of the optical body are different and not coplanar.

There are provided Nano-Opto-Mechanical sensors for measuring concentration of a component in a gas flow, methods for their use and system comprising the same.
Abstract:
A breath analysis system that includes a handle assembly with an analysis cartridge on an upper end thereof. The handle includes a main body portion with a pressure opening and a pressure transducer therein. The analysis cartridge includes a main body portion with an upper portion that defines a breath chamber, a lower portion that defines a fluid chamber and a filter assembly that is movable between a breath capture position and an analysis position. The filter assembly has an opening defined therethrough. In the breath capture position, the opening partially defines the breath chamber and in the analysis position the opening partially defines the fluid chamber. The system also includes an analysis device with a case, a door, a controller that controls the motor and a fluorescence detection assembly and a rotation assembly positioned in the case interior. The rotation assembly includes a shroud with a funnel portion for receiving the analysis cartridge.

Abstract:
An optical gas sensing apparatus includes an explosion-rated device electronics enclosure. An explosion-rated sensing enclosure has a light transmitting element to allow light to pass out of and into the sensing enclosure. The sensing enclosure is operably coupled to the explosion-rated device electronics enclosure by a feed-through. In one aspect, an internal volume of the sensing enclosure is less than or equal to about one fiftieth of the volume of the explosion-rated device electronics enclosure. In another aspect, the thickness of the light transmitting element is less than or equal to about 3 millimeters. A light source is disposed within the sensing enclosure and is operably coupled to the device electronics. A detector is disposed within the sensing enclosure and is also operably coupled to the device electronics.
