Abstract:
A system provides for a self-checkout terminal with various components. A receiver receives shopping data including prices of items that a customer has physically acquired or placed in a cart. A payment logic receives credential information associated with a monetary account for paying for the items. A message logic creates checkout data that includes data representing the collection of purchase items. A transmitter transmits the credential information to an account network for authentication and the receiver receives a response indicating if the monetary account is valid. The payment logic/self-checkout terminal indicates to the customer that a payment using the monetary account for the purchase items is authorized or not. When authorized, an authorization is received at the self-checkout terminal before the customer arrives at the terminal and the self-checkout terminal causes a payment transaction to be executed to provide for self-checkout using the monetary account without assistance by another person.
Abstract:
A retail store communications network, a point of transaction (POT) terminal and methods of using the same according to embodiments of the application can include a hand held and/or stationary optical reader for reading a bar code symbol of an item and generating a decoded out bar code data message. The network is configured so that the (POT) terminal can use linked or identified mobile devices by way of wireless communication, to provide a sequenced order of identified customers at the (POT) terminal among a plurality of discoverable wireless devices.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method of conduction transactions at a point-of-sale terminal using a wireless device is disclosed and may include initiating a transaction with the point-of-sale terminal via a wireless link, receiving at least one price from the point-of-sale terminal, determining whether the at least one price satisfies a price warning condition, and transmitting a first audible signal if the at least one price satisfies the price warning condition.
Abstract:
A method for creating a probabilistic product is provided. The method includes creating a set of product identifiers corresponding to a plurality of products offered by a single seller, each of the plurality of product identifiers uniquely corresponding to one of the plurality of products. The method also includes selecting a subset of the product identifiers. Additionally, the method includes generating a plurality of probability values, each probability value uniquely corresponding to one of the product identifiers contained in the subset, and the sum of the probability values being equal to one. The method further includes determining a monetary value, defining a selling price. By paying the selling price to the seller, a buyer subsequently receives a product associated with one of the product identifiers randomly chosen from the subset, the probability of choosing a particular product identifier being equal to the probability value corresponding to the particular product identifier. The subset and corresponding probabilities, accordingly, define a single probabilistic product.
Abstract:
Methods and systems consistent with the principles of some embodiments of the present invention provide for determining a set of variables that together have strong predictive power relative to some target variable(s); identifying a subset of variables that together describe the majority of the information in the database; statistically segmenting the database; predicting unknown values in the target variables; combining prediction and VIVa; filling gaps in databases for further analysis or database completion; predicting probabilities; and outputting information based on the processed data. The outputs may relate to optimizing price to maximize return, producing a database based on postal code, identifying a trade area for sale of goods; and/or optimizing the distribution of marketing funds across various marketing channels.

Abstract:
A network mobility server, which includes a target device inventory module, a data collection module, a data management module and a distribution module. The data management module, includes at least one data storage module, in which at least a portion of the data stored therein are identical data items stored in different selected formats suitable for use on mobile computing and telecommunication devices. The network also includes network agents, resident on numbers of the network members.
Abstract:
The invention is related to a storage cabinet (12, 14) for at least one of refrigerated and frozen goods (22, 24) for sale through that the cabinet door opens via entering of a door opening code in a payment terminal (18) with scanning equipment (20) for reading of codes which identify said goods (22, 24). The goods which are purchased by lifting them out of the cabinet (12, 14) are scanned with the scanning equipment (20) and are debited to a purchasing account associated with the door opening code. The cabinet is locked when the cabinet door closes. Further the cabinet rests (12, 14) on a weighing device (30). If a predetermined difference between the scanned goods' (22, 24) weight and the cabinet's (12, 14) weight occurs, the weight difference is registered in a transaction data file associated with the door opening code, wherein loss of goods (22, 24) is registered on a known purchasing account.
