PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a message processing device for a telecommunication terminal that analyzes a message received during the use of an electronic messaging service. SOLUTION: The message processing device for a telecommunication terminal comprises a message analyzer suited to detect one message type out of a set of given message types capable of carrying data for software applications loaded in a terminal, and data extracting means suited to extract data for the application from each received message belonging to the one of the message types. Abstract:
The local network (10) comprises two sub-networks (12,14) of different types, linking together domestic multimedia equipment. This includes a television, videotape recorder, set top box, computer and camera. Management components (38,40) detect the connection of various items of equipment above to the network, and the download of relevant software is triggered automatically on detection of the connection of a specific device. The application management system includes a local network (10) comprising both an IEEE 1394 sub-network (12) supporting a logical bus of a first type, and an Ethernet sub-network (14) supporting a logical bus of a second type. A videotape recorder (16) and a digital multimedia terminal (set top box 18) are connected to the first network, and the digital terminal is also connected to a television (20) and a parabolic aerial. A microcomputer (24) and a digital camera (26) are connected to the Ethernet. Management components (38,40) detect the connection of various items of equipment above to the network, and a terminal (28) provides access to an application server (34). A system (44) is provided to download applications from the server, the download being triggered automatically on detection of the connection of a specific device (16,18,20,24,26) to the network.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function for securely distributing sensitive data. SOLUTION: The system comprises an application device AD including a data processor 44, a smart card access device 22, a smart card 20 and a communication interface 40, and a server TS. The smart card access device 22 accesses the smart card 20 uniquely associated with a user. The smart card 20 includes a first encryption key KC. The server TS securely communicates the sensitive data to the smart card 20 by encrypting the secret data by means of the first encryption key KC. The sensitive data are decrypted and stored on the smart card 20. An applications program 60 is operable to access the sensitive data on the smart card 20 only following successful mutual authentication between the smart card 20 and the applications program 60. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which allows every user who has a terminal including a multimedia message service (MMS) client, to directly receive a message deposited in the message service of the user on the terminal. SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of: transmitting a message (MSG) from at least a receiving box (4) of a destination user to a multimedia messaging server (MMSC); transmitting a multimedia message (MMS) from the MMSC to a terminal (3) of the destination user; and allowing the destination user to directly acquire the deposited message on the user's original communication terminal. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of securing safety of a communication terminal when the communication terminal is connected to a terminal user identification module. SOLUTION: In the method of securing safety of the communication terminal 1 connected to the terminal user identification module 2 includes execution of checking procedure 10. The terminal 1 transmits 11 terminal identification information to the identification module 2 connected with the terminal 1 and the identification module 2 compares 22 the received identification information from the terminal 1 with identification information stored in a memory 31, transmits result of the comparison to the terminal 1 and sets an internal checking indicator (LOCK) if the identification information stored in the identification module 2 corresponds to information of the terminal.
