Abstract: A method for determining the shape and position of an underwater riser extending from a floating platform includes calculating a deformed shape of the riser by means of a numerical model of the deformed shape of the riser as a function of a plurality of acceleration values and of a plurality of position values in predetermined points of the riser, detecting acceleration values of the riser in a plurality of detection points along a longitudinal extension of the riser, detecting the water pressure values in at least some of the detection points, and calculating the position values as a function of the measured water pressure values.

Abstract: A process for liquefying a natural gas comprising a mixture of hydrocarbons predominating in methane, the process comprising a first semi-open refrigerant cycle with natural gas in which any natural gas liquids that have condensed are separated from the natural gas feed stream, which stream then passes through a main cryogenic heat exchanger (4) in order to contribute by heat exchange to pre-cooling a main natural gas stream (F-P) and to cooling an initial refrigerant gas stream (G-0), a second semi-open refrigerant cycle with natural gas for contributing to pre-cooling the natural gas and the refrigerant and also to liquefying the natural gas, and a closed refrigerant cycle with refrigerant gas for subcooling the liquefied natural gas and for delivering refrigeration power in addition to the other two cycles. The invention also provides a natural gas liquefaction installation for performing such a process.

Abstract: A counter-current cross-flow heat exchanger for heating a first gas and cooling a second gas, includes modules in fluid communication with one another, each module being positioned on a plane, the planes mutually overlapping. Conduits allow entry and exit of the first and second gases into and out of the exchanger. Each module has heat exchange plates, with heating and cooling faces. The plates are orthogonal to the module plane and parallel to define alternating heating and cooling spaces. The first gas crosses each heating space with a direction substantially parallel to the plane of each module and the second gas crosses each cooling space with a direction substantially orthogonal to the plane of each module. The cooling spaces between adjacent modules are in direct fluid communication. The heating spaces between adjacent modules are in fluid communication with one another by conduits/conveyors, creating a serpentine path.

Abstract: An assembly for lifting a payload of an offshore platform is provided. The offshore platform includes a support structure supporting the payload. Abstract: A blower device includes a Coanda effect fluid flow amplifier having a suction opening, an outlet opening to provide an amplified fluid flow, an inner passage along an amplifier central axis passing through the suction opening and the outlet opening. An inlet conduit inputs pressurized fluid into the inner passage for drawing the ambient fluid from the suction opening to the outlet opening by Coanda effect, achieving amplified flow. A diffuser downstream of the amplifier includes diffuser side walls that delimit a diffuser inner side surface extending about a diffuser central axis arranged along the amplifier central axis and terminates with a first flow inlet open end facing the outlet opening, and an opposite second flow outlet open end delivers further amplified fluid flow. At least one side opening is upstream of the second flow outlet open end to allow additional ambient fluid to be sucked into the diffuser.
