    Abstract: A load-carrying agent and a lubricating composition containing such an agent is disclosed. The agent is preferably comprised of a statistical mixture of a plurality of different coupled phosphorus-containing amide compounds having the formula (I) wherein X1, X2 and X3, independently, is O or S; wherein R1 and R2, independently, is a hydrocarbyl, a hydrocarbyl-based oxy, the hydrocarbyl portion of which contains 6 to 22 carbon atoms, or a hydrocarbyl-based thio having from 4 to about 34 carbon atoms; wherein R3, R4, R5 and R6, independently, is hydrogen, or an alkyl having from 1 to about 22 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl having from about 4 to about 22 carbon atoms, or an aromatic, an alkyl-substituted aromatic or an aromatic-substituted alkyl having from 6 to about 34 carbon atoms; wherein n is 0 or 1; wherein n' is 1, 2 or 3; wherein R7 is hydrogen or an alkyl having from 1 to 22 carbon atoms; and wherein when n' is 1, R8 is selected from the group consisting of H, -ROH, -ROR, -RSR and and when n' is 2, R8 is selected from the group consisting of -R- and -R'- when n' is 3, R8 is wherein R is independently hydrogen or an alkyl moiety, alkylene or alkylidene containing 1 to 12 carbon atoms and R' is hydrogen or an alkyl moiety, alkylene, alkylidene or carboxyl containing 1 to 60 carbon atoms.

    Abstract: Una composición lubricante que comprende un aceite de viscosidad lubricante y una composición de éster de fosfito (A), distinta de una sal de zinc, que comprende el producto de reacción de (a) un ácido fosforoso monomérico o un éster del mismo con (b) al menos dos alquilen dioles: un primer alquilen diol (i) que tiene dos grupos hidroxi en una relación 1,4 o 1,5 o 1,6; un segundo alquilen diol (ii) que es un 1,3-propilen diol sustituido con alquilo con uno o más de los sustituyentes alquilo del mismo en uno o más de los átomos de carbono de la unidad de propileno, el número total de átomos de carbono en el grupo 1,3-propilen diol sustituido con alquilo es de 5 a 12; en donde las cantidades molares relativas de ácido fosforoso monomérico o éster del mismo (a) y el total de alquilen dioles (b) están en una relación de 0,9:1,1 a 1,1:0,9; en donde las cantidades molares relativas del primer alquilen diol (i) y el 1,3-propilen diol sustituido con alquilo (ii) están en una relación de 30:70 a 65:35; y un espesante de grasa.
