PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved carriage for a partition element which can slide along a rail, is turnable in a proper condition, and can be simply adjusted, so as to enable easy and accurate adjustment of the vertical displacement of the partition element. SOLUTION: An adjusting element, which is provided in a casing of a carriage body 41, protrudes through an opening from the casing and is slidable at least in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the carriage 4. The adjusting element 45 includes an adjusting wedge 47 and a holding wedge 452 while the adjusting wedge 47 can be displaced with respect to the holding wedge 452 by means of an adjusting screw 46, and the adjusting screw 46 is held by the carriage body 41. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an installation space for an apparatus having a carriage holding a partition element and traveling in a rail by reducing the size of the apparatus. SOLUTION: The apparatus used for holding the partition element 6, specifically, a glass panel, comprises the carriage 1, a carriage body 11 and at least one wheel 124, 125 rolling on a travel surface 231 of the rail 2. The carriage is removably connected with an attachment element 3 connected with the partition element. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling unit having a reduced weight and manufactured simply and inexpensively. SOLUTION: The traveling unit 1 has at least one traveling member, e.g., a magnet, a traveling wheel 12 and/or a sliding member retained by a member having opposite magnetic polarity or supported on a traveling face of a rail. The rail comprises a center section and two or two side sections each having a leg member when needed. The traveling face is provided on the top side of the leg member. The traveling unit 1 is provided with one or two traveling unit sections. The traveling unit sections can be engaged in the opposing side faces 4a, 4b of a plate 4 with a fixing means 2, or one of the traveling unit sections can be guided into a groove recessed in the top side of the plate 4 between the side faces 4a, 4b so that the unit sections are brought into contact with the plate 4 or fixed inside it with the fixing means 2. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide device capable of guiding a mobile body always in a stable state without bringing a guide shaft into a tilted state for adjusting the position of the mobile body such as a sliding door. SOLUTION: The guide shaft 130 is inserted into guide shaft adjusting holes 112a, 112b formed in a case 110 and guide shaft insertion holes 161, 162 formed in an adjusting member 160. When an adjusting screw 150 is rotated, the adjusting member 160 advances and retreats in the direction of the arrow A in the case 100. When the adjusting member 160 advances and retreats, the intersected position of the guide shaft adjusting holes 112a, 112b in the case 110 and the guide shaft insertion holes 161, 162 in the adjusting member 160 is displaced in the direction of the arrow B. Therefore, the guide shaft 130 is displaced in the direction of the arrow B. In this case, the guide shaft 130 is supported at its longitudinal two position by parts of the pair of guide shaft insertion holes 161, 162 in the adjusting member 160 and moves in parallel.
