Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high amusement and safety, and to accelerate communication between users. SOLUTION: Mobile communication terminals 10A and 10B have video telephone functions. A communication control unit 24 displays a virtual space on the mobile communication terminals 10A and 10B. Users of the mobile communication terminals 10A and 10B move in the virtual space through avatars. The mobile communication terminal 10A once selecting a communication destination (the mobile communication terminal 10B) transmits position data indicative of positions of both the avatars to the communication control unit 24 (Sb1). The communication control unit 24 acquires the position data and judges whether the positions that the data indicate are included in a predetermined area (specified area) (Sb4). Then when the positions that both the position data indicate are included in the specified area, video telephone communication is carried out using picked-up images and when not, video telephone communication is performed using alternative images (avatar images). Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system capable of maintaining a display method, even if a conference connection method is switched among a plurality of data terminals associated with each of a plurality of telephone terminals to be connected for a conference, in the system in which the telephone terminals are interlocked with the data terminals. SOLUTION: A display method in switching a connection method from a mesh type to an MCU type and from the MCU type to the mesh type is set for each of data terminals PC1-PCn in a connection method-display method corresponding table of a VCS server SVA. In this way, even if the connection method is switched from the mesh type to the MCU type and vise versa, the display method before switching can be maintained in the data terminals PC1-PCn or the MCU 2. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide enhanced technologies regarding a presence-aware telephone network. SOLUTION: A messaging system for a presence-aware communication system to perform the following operations: (a) provide a subscriber's communication device with information regarding an incoming contact during a messaging session; (b) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message; (c) provide the subscriber's communication device with a text message relating to a voice message; (d) in response to a connection request, provide the subscriber's communication device with a notification relating to a message from a second party associated with an input telephone number/address; (e) while a contact between the subscriber and a different third party is in progress, provide the subscriber's communication device with information respecting a message from the third person; (f) transform an audio messaging session between the messaging system and the communication device of a contacting party into a graphical user interface-based audio session; (g) transform the audio messaging session into a session having a video channel or both audio and video channels. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio position perception to an end point in a multipoint videoconferencing by supplying a plurality of audio streams to the end point. SOLUTION: The audio stream is made to differentiate in order to emphasize broadcast of audio stream via one or a plurality of speakers closest to the position of speaker end point in a videoconferencing layout displayed on the end point. The audio broadcast by the speaker arranged on distal to the screen is attenuated or delayed compared to the audio broadcast by the speaker arranged on proximal to display. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide method for encoding video call data for mobile terminal equipment with which synchronization inconsistency between audio data and video data can be decreased and a network state can be maintained as an optimum state by computing a byte rate of audio data, control data and image data to be transferred in a video call, selecting and encoding, from a multiplex code table, a multiplex code having a byte rate closest to the computed byte rate. SOLUTION: A video call method for a mobile terminal includes the steps of: creating a code table for multiplexing data; selecting an optimum code from the created code table; encoding data to be transmitted by the selected code; and transmitting the encoded data. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly start mutual video or audio communication. SOLUTION: On a display 41 of a communication apparatus 1-1 that a user A utilizes, slave pictures 151-153 for displaying received user disclosure information are superimposed and displayed on the right side of video of contents under reproduction. As indicated on an expansion window W, the slave picture 151 displays thereon a user's thumbnail image 161, information on the number of users (two users) utilizing the communication apparatus, a contents name "BS11ch" 163 being viewed on the communication apparatus, and video 164 of the contents that are stored as user setting information in the communication apparatus utilized by the users of session target members and further permitted to be disclosed for the user A. The present invention may be applied to a communication system that supports remote communication between users. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
Users, who have simultaneous access to a plurality of terminal devices, can enter into a multimedia, multiterminal user session. In a negotiation phase users agree on which media to use in a multimedia session and select the most appropriate types of terminal devices that support the selected media. Each terminal device is connected to one of a plurality of interworking communications networks. A network node (130) that is reached through any of the plurality of interworking networks manages creation and supervision of sub-sessions involving the selected terminal devices such that each type of terminal device carry at least one selected media. A versatile and media rich communication is obtained in which terminal devices currently available at a local environment are efficiently used.
