Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headphone apparatus which is just fitted regardless of a size of the head of a person who wears the headphone apparatus. SOLUTION: A headphone apparatus comprises: an approximately U-shaped band part 11 of which one end and another end are held on a side head part near upper ends of left and right ears of a person who wears the headphone apparatus on the head and of which an intermediate part is positioned in a rear head part of that person; left and right linking members 20L, 20R connected to the band part; left and right housings 30L, 30R linked by the linking members in the state of being hung down from the band part; and headphone drivers 31L, 31R built in the left and right housings. Abstract:
A stereo audio headphone apparatus comprising a master headphone unit comprising a master housing, master circuitry comprising a stereo audio source and a wireless transmitter, a master audio output device for playing a first stereo audio channel, a master audio input device, and a first independently settable frequency equalizer for the first stereo audio channel carried by said master housing, and a slave headphone unit comprising a slave housing, slave circuitry comprising a wireless receiver, a slave audio output device for playing a second stereo audio channel, a slave audio input device, and a second independently settable frequency equalizer for the second stereo audio channel carried by said slave housing. The master and slave circuitries are operable in a pass-through mode with audio sensed by said master and slave audio input devices being delivered to said master and slave audio output devices via said first and second frequency equalizers.
Abstract:
A neckpiece wearable by a user includes opposing arm segments operatively connected to each other and configured such that each arm segment defines a tethering element configured to removably retain a cable to the neckpiece. The arm segments may be arranged to retain the neckpiece to the user's neck intermediate the shoulders and jaw of the user, such that the neckpiece when worn by the user is not in contact with the user's shoulders and/or is not supported in position by the user's shoulders. An access opening allows the user to don and doff the neckpiece, and is preferably less than 35% of the perimeter of the neckpiece. The neckpiece may include a grasping interface to exert a grasping pressure on the user's neck. The neckpiece may include a physiological sensing element. The arm segments may be formed of wire. A connecting element may detachably connect the opposing arm segments.
Abstract:
Apparatuses that provide a bone-conduction speaker arranged to be located behind the ear are described herein. An exemplary apparatus may include: (a) a glasses-style support structure comprising a front section and at least one side section; (b) at least one bone-conduction speaker; and (c) a member having a proximate end and a distal end, wherein the proximate end is attached to the at least one side section, and wherein the at least one bone-conduction speaker is attached to the member at or near the distal end; wherein the member is arranged on the at least one side section such that when the glasses-style support structure is worn the member: (a) extends to the anterior of the at least one side section and (b) locates the bone-conduction speaker posterior to an ear.
Abstract:
A headphone for use with a wireless audio device. The headphone determines whether the origin of an incoming transmission is a cell phone or a device such as a land line device or a computer. The headphone applies a different equalization pattern depending on whether the origin is a land line device or a computer or whether the origin is a cell phone. The headphone may measure the amplitude of the incoming transmission above a first threshold frequency, or below a second threshold frequency, or both to determine if the origin is a land line device or a computer or if the origin is a cell phone.
Abstract:
A personal audio device comprises a first speaker housing (10) having a speaker (12) associated therewith, and a second speaker housing (18) having a speaker (20) associated therewith, wherein the first and second speaker housings (10, 18) are provided with wireless communication means whereby an audio signal can be transmitted from the first speaker housing (10) to the second speaker housing (18) for output by the speaker (20) associated with the second speaker housing (18).
Abstract:
An earphone set with a first earphone and a second earphone, the earphone set comprising: a connector for connecting the first earphone and the second earphone; a memory module for storing audio data; and a power management module for preventing short circuit or inductive surge in current arising from connection or disconnection of the first earphone or the second earphone from the connector, the first earphone comprising: a first sound driver for sound production; and a power supply module for powering the earphone set; the second earphone comprising: a second sound driver for sound production; and a processing unit for converting the stored audio data in the memory module into sound producible by the first sound driver and the second sound driver, the power supply module being adapted to provide power to the first sound driver, the memory module, the second sound driver, and the processing unit, the connector enabling a functional connection between the first earphone and the second earphone, the memory module being resided in at least one of the first earphone, the second earphone and the connector, wherein the connector being coupled to at least one controller for manipulating sound produced by the first and second sound drivers and being detachably connected to the first earphone or the second earphone.
Abstract:
An accessory, such as an ear covering device, that can be used to communicate wirelessly with different types of electronic devices is disclosed. The accessory may include an electronic system or components that facilitates communication between the accessory and an electronic device.
Abstract:
A wireless earphone that comprises a transceiver circuit for receiving streaming audio from a data source over a local ad hoc wireless network. When the data source and the earphone are out of range, they transition automatically to an infrastructure wireless network. If there is no common infrastructure wireless network for both the data source and the speakerphone set, the earphone connects t a host server via an available wireless network.
