Abstract:
The disk-shaped optical information medium of this invention includes: a first substrate having a center hole; a second substrate having a center hole; and a radiation curable resin interposed between the first and second substrates for bonding together the first and second substrates, wherein the optical information medium further includes a stopper for preventing the radiation curable resin from protruding into the center holes of the substrates, and a space between the first and second substrates of at least a half of a clamp region for clamping the optical information medium is filled with the resin.
Abstract:
In continuous sign language recognition, reference sign language patterns of good quality are generated. Continuous sign language patterns and reference sign language patterns are efficiently compressed. The compressed continuous sign language patterns are sequentially and directly matched with the compressed reference sign language patterns to recognize the sign language at high speed and with high precision. A reference sign pattern generating unit generates a reference sign language pattern by normalizing sample patterns while taking into consideration of their nonlinear compression/expansion and by calculating an average of the sample patterns. A continuous sign language recognition unit recognizes a continuous sign language at high speed by sequentially matching the continuous sign language of time sequential patterns with reference sign language patterns while allowing nonlinear expansion and compression in the time domain. A sign language translation system is provided in which a sign language as well as the facial expression or emotion of a sign language user is recognized and converted into a spoken language with emotion, and transferred in the form of texts, voices, sign languages of another type to a particular partner among a plurality of unknown system users.

Abstract:
In a sign-language learning system, the data of sign-language desired by a learner can be outputted quickly and accurately and, moreover, in the display method matching the requirements of individual learners, and the individual learners can easily make additional registration. The sign-language data are stored in a sign-language dictionary, and desired sign-language data are searched on the basis of an entry word or contents by a dictionary search device. The searched sign-language data are displayed in a display output device in accordance with a requirement of a learner by image synthesis. The sign-language data are registered by a dictionary registration device.
Abstract:
A sign language/word translation system can cope with the case where no word corresponding to a hand operation is found. The system includes a configuration for taking a countermeasure against the finding of a plurality of words corresponding to a hand operation. When a word corresponding to a hand operation is not found in a sign language word dictionary, a finger operation is input, a character corresponding to the finger operation is searched for in a manual alphabet pattern dictionary, and the character train thus obtained is found from a character word dictionary, thereby producing an appropriate word. Also, a plurality of words found from the sign language word dictionary are displayed as translation candidates, and the user inputs by a hand operation as to whether the translation candidate is appropriate or not. The translation candidate that has been decided to be appropriate is determined as the word resulting from the translation.

A high-strength and high-conductivity copper alloy sheet is provided, which consists of a composition of from 6 to 24 wt. % Ag, and Cu and impurities as the balance, and has a sheet structure in which Cu solid solution and Ag solid solution are streched into a fiber shape.
Abstract:
A multipath transmission system for an automobile according to the present invention comprises a plurality of multiplex transmission units connected in parallel with each other to one common bus. Each transmission unit is assigned to one of groups in which various devices attached to the automobile are classified. The transmission unit includes a sending circuit for transmitting the multiple signals from the devices in the group concerned to the other units through the bus. The system further comprises a power source for always applying electric power to the sending circuit of at least one of the multiplex transmission units. Only that multiplex transmission unit to which the electric power is always applied is provided with a bias circuit which sets the potential of the multiple signals on the bus when the multiple signals are supplied from the sending circuits of any multiplex transmission unit to the bus.
Abstract:
A lift truck comprises a roller rotatable at a rate substantially proportional to a ground vehicle speed and a hydraulic regulator operated by the roller to discharge hydraulic fluid at a rate substantially proportional to the ground vehicle speed. An actuator for a push-pull mechanism with a face plate is operated on the hydraulic fluid generated by the hydraulic regulator so that the face plate can displace in synchronized with the ground vehicle speed.
Abstract:
A multiplex transmission system, in which one of a plurality of nodes, as a transmission node, mutually coupled together through a transmission path transmits data frame by frame to at least one of other nodes as at least one of reception node, and the reception node returns a reception acknowledge signal to the transmitting node upon proper reception of the frame of data. A reception acknowledge signal area comprising a plurality of bits is provided following the frame transmitted from the transmitting node. The reception acknowledge signal area is divided into a plurality of bit areas which are respectively assigned to the plurality of nodes. The reception node returns the reception acknowlege signal to the transmitting node from the respectively-assigned bit areas of the reception acknowledge signal area. As desired, a destination designation area having the same length as the reception acknowledge signal area is provided in a frame and is divided into a plurality of bit areas which are respectively assigned with the plurality of nodes. The individual destination nodes are specified by the respective bit areas of the destination designation area of the frame. Preferably, a pulse width modulation code for discriminating the binary logic based on the size of the pulse width is used as a transmission code at least in the reception acknowledge signal area.
Abstract:
A finisher installed at the rear end of an automotive vehicle body. The finisher is comprised of two plate-like plastic parts which are joined at a parting plane with each other. The two plate-like plastic parts have respectively outer surfaces which are planarly aligned with each other to form a common flat outer surface. At least one of the two plate-like plastic parts is colored. The parting plane includes a horizontal flat narrower section which is generally perpendicular to the outer surface, and an inclined flat wider section contiguous to the horizontal section and inclined relative to the outer surface in such a manner as to form an acute angle between it and the outer surface defining the colored plastic part, thereby improving the strength and appearance of the finisher.
