    Abstract: A one-piece fastener for securing a plurality of elongate objects in a bundle and securing the bundle to an apertured mounting surface includes an elongate flexible strap having a plurality of teeth, the strap being joined to a locking head by a spiral strap portion. The head includes a strap accepting slot, a downwardly disposed pawl that presents a plurality of teeth disposed to engage the strap teeth, a barb means formed on the pawl for resiliently engaging the edge of a mounting aperture and a pressure pawl formed opposite the pawl, the strap being positioned between the pressure pawl and pawl when secured with the locking head.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a connector for terminating a flat cable comprising: an elongate insulative base having first and second ends and top and bottom surfaces extending between said ends, said base further having an elongate array of terminal element receiving apertures with each aperture extending through said top and bottom surfaces; a metallic terminal element disposed in each of said apertures, each said element including an insulation displacement conductor termination portion extending beyond said top surface and adapted to terminate a corresponding one of the conductors of said flat cable; an elongate insulative cover overlaying said termination portions, said cover having first and second ends; and interconnection means joining said base and cover adjacent their respective first ends and supporting said cover, said cover and base being relatively movable from an insertion position wherein the spacing between said cover and said conductor termination portions is greater than the thickness of said cable and wherein the cover and base are joined only adjacent their first ends to a termination position wherein the spacing between the base and cover is less than in said insertion position and the various conductors of said cable are electrically and mechanically terminated in corresponding conductor termination portions of said terminal elements, whereby said connector permits entrance of said flat cable between the second ends of said cover and base thus allowing application of said connector intermediate the ends of said cable.

    Abstract: A metal locking tie formed from a locking head and an elongate strap extending through the locking head. The locking head is defined by a top wall, a bottom wall and two sides. The locking head includes a strap passageway that extends through the locking head from an entrance end to an exit end. The bottom wall of the locking head has a tab that extends upwardly toward the strap passageway in the locking head. The strap has a first end, a second end, and an aperture therethrough. When the strap is positioned within the locking head the upwardly extending tab of the locking head engages the aperture in the strap. A metal locking tie tool secures the strap to the locking head by displacing a portion of the strap in the locking head.

    Abstract: A metal cable tie (22) is disclosed. The cable tie (22) includes an elongate metallic strap (28), a metallic locking head (24), and metallic roller means (32). The strap (28) has a first end (26) and a second end (30) opposite the first end (26). The head (24) is secured to the first end (26) of the strap (28) for receiving the second end (30) of the strap (28). The head (24) comprises a strap entry face (48), a strap exit face (50), and a strap-receiving aperture (52) extending therebetween. The head (24) also comprises a floor (54) and a roof (40) which diverge in the direction of the exit face (50). The head (24) further comprises at least one indentation (36) on a first side thereof and at least one indentation (36) on a second side thereof. The metallic roller means (32) lockingly engages the strap (28), and the head (24) comprises retention means (56) disposed adjacent the exit face (50) for captively holding the roller means (32) within the head (24). The roller means (32) is movable between a threading position wherein the roller means (32) is disposed adjacent the exit face (50) and the retention means (56), and a locking position wherein the roller means (32) is closer to the entry face (48). The first end (26) of the strap (28) comprises at least one rib (38) disposed adjacent the head (24).

    Abstract: An electrical connector with improved crosstalk compensation is disclosed. By including at least one coupling with a different frequency dependency than other couplings in the connector, crosstalk compensation performance is improved over a greater frequency range. The different frequency dependency may, for example, be used to compensate for phase shifts caused by distances between compensation circuitry and the plug/jack interface. Embodiments for decreasing these distances are also enclosed.
