Abstract:
A powered communications patch panel is adapted to power network devices connected to the communications patch panel. Power is supplied to the network devices by the powered communications patch panel over the communication cabling. The powered communications patch panel may be provided with a management port to allow remote management of the patch panel via a network connection. Multiple management ports may be provided, allowing patch panels to be connected to one another in a daisy-chain configuration.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved communication cable having a core lay length varying along the cable length.SOLUTION: A communication cable in which twisted wire pairs are mutually twisted at a core lay length that varies along a cable length, has a periodic interval prescribed by a first segment length, a first cable segment 16 having a first core lay length along the first segment length, a second segment length, a second cable segment 24 having a second core lay length different from the first core lay length along the second segment length, and a jitter distance z that is added to at least one of the first segment length and the second segment length and that varies along the communication cable length.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methods for suppressing alien crosstalk in communications.SOLUTION: The systems and methods use enhanced patch cords for introducing additional attenuation. The enhanced patch cords 22, 24 are preferably shielded to reduce alien crosstalk along their lengths and also attenuate signals passing therethrough to a greater extent than standard communication patch cords. The interaction of two enhanced patch cords results in two suppression steps for alien crosstalk and only one suppression step for an intended signal passing through a communication cable 18.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for managing a local-area communication network and documenting it. SOLUTION: The system has an Ethernet controller and an electric-power forwarding function on the Ethernet as an integrated management component in a cable plant. A power-supplying apparatus and a power-receiving device are deployed by using an active electronic module to enhance management, documentation, security, and emergency 911 aspects of the network, and to extend physical reach of the network. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular plug to be used by mounting on an end of a cable in which a nearend crosstalk is further reduced for improvement. SOLUTION: The modular plug 100 is provided with a conductive wire sorting out member 20 having a cable introducing projection and a plurality of sorting out passages, a contact point terminal carrying member 40 having a plurality of penetrated holes and a plurality of slots, and a plurality of contact point terminals, and all the above unties a twist of a twist pair signal wire and regulates each position to reduce a nearend crosstalk. Moreover, the modular plug can be provided with a housing 60, a stress shielding coupling member 82, and a stress mitigating boot 90. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve crosstalk in a termination region of jacks and control variations of termination positions between jacks. SOLUTION: The wire containment cap 104 has twisted pair slots for routing a twisted wire pair through the cap. The twisted pair slots are provided with funnel-shaped entrances to assist the routing of the twisted wire pair from the rear end of the wire containment cap toward wire slots of the wire containment cap. The wire containment cap may be provided in a focal distance in a shielded or unshielded manner, and is adapted for use in a communication jack 100 assembly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
