    Abstract: An efficient way to perform power control and to communicate data with a base station is desired. According to an aspect, the apparatus generates a downlink grant for a device, the downlink grant indicating to the device subsets of uplink resources allocated for transmitting data segments and subsets of downlink resources for receiving power control commands for respective data segments, the subsets of the uplink resources being non-concurrent with the subsets of the downlink resources. The apparatus transmits the downlink grant to the device. The apparatus receives, from the device, a first uplink transmission in a first subset of the uplink resources based on the transmitted downlink grant. The apparatus generates a first power control command based on the received first uplink transmission. The apparatus transmits, to the device, the first power control command in a first subset of the downlink resources. The apparatus may be a base station.

    Abstract: Techniques for mitigating interference due to peer-to-peer (P2P) communication are described. In an aspect, a P2P UE may measure the signal strength of downlink signals from base stations and may set its transmit power based on (e.g., proportional to) the measured signal strength in order to mitigate interference to WWAN UEs communicating with base stations. In another aspect, the P2P UE may measure the signal strength of uplink signals from WWAN UEs and may set its transmit power based on (e.g., inversely proportional to) the measured signal strength in order to mitigate interference to the WWAN UEs. In one design, the P2P UE may measure the signal strength of an uplink signal from a WWAN UE, estimate the pathloss between the two UEs based on the measured signal strength, and determine its transmit power based on the estimated pathloss.

    Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The apparatus may receive a message from a base station. The message may indicate a first dedicated resource for downlink transmission, and the first dedicated resource may be associated with a scheduled downlink transmission from the base station. The apparatus may determine a second dedicated resource for uplink transmission based on the first dedicated resource for downlink transmission indicated in the message. The second dedicated resource for uplink transmission may be associated with the scheduled downlink transmission. The apparatus may determine whether to transmit an information message, to be used by the base station for transmitting the scheduled downlink transmission, on the second dedicated resource.
