Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a set of base stations that are part of a synchronization group, where at least two of the base stations in the set of base stations operate on different frequencies. In some cases, the UE may identify the set of base stations based on an indication transmitted by a serving base station for the UE. Additionally, once the synchronization group is identified, the UE may schedule synchronization signals together from the set of base stations. For example, after identifying the set of base stations, the UE may identify a measurement timing window associated with the synchronization group and measure a respective synchronization signal for each base station within the measurement timing window. Accordingly, the UE may then transmit a measurement report to the serving base station that includes the synchronization signal measurements.

In some wireless communications networks, a device, such as a user equipment (UE), may be configured to detect a signal blockage affecting one or more antennas of the UE. The signal blockage may be associated with the position of a body, such as a user, relative to the one or more antennas of the UE, which may include how a user places their hand on or near the device during use. The position of the body may block one or more of the antennas of the UE, causing increased signal attenuation and decreased communications performance. The UE may be configured to signal, an indication based on detecting the signal blockage.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a first set of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) for a first subscription of the UE and a second set of SSBs for a second subscription of the UE; select a first SSB, from the first set of SSBs, for communications of the first subscription; identify a third set of SSBs by modifying the second set of SSBs to remove one or more SSBs from the second set of SSBs, at least one SSB of the one or more SSBs overlapping in time with the first SSB; select a second SSB from the third set of SSBs; and monitor the second SSB for paging messages of the second subscription. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications at a user equipment (UE) are described. Aspects of the described techniques may include the user equipment measuring signal aspects for a plurality of respective receive beams for receiving communications associated with a synchronization signal block transmitted by a base station on a transmit beam. From the measured signal aspects, the UE may determine that a receive beam from the plurality of receive beams is a preferred beam for receipt of communications from the base station transmitted on the transmit beam. With the determined preferred beam, the UE may initiate a beam-sweeping procedure to re-measure the plurality of UE receive beams, where the UE measures the first UE receive beam before measuring others of the plurality of UE receive beams.

The UE perform a search procedure for a first synchronization signal block (SSB) to detect a first beam of a base station. The UE may determine a first timing offset for the first SSB based on the search procedure. The UE may estimate a second timing offset for a second SSB from the base station based on the first timing offset. The UE may perform a measurement procedure for the second SSB to detect a second beam of the base station based on the second timing offset. The UE may prune fake beams based on synchronization signals used for the measurement procedure.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for reporting and receiving actual UL transmission power. In accordance with some implementation, a UE may send a first indication of power headroom to a base station. The UE may receive one or more resources allocation for a UL transmission. The UE then may determine actual transmission power to be used in the UL transmission. Upon determination, the UE may transmit the UL transmission and send an indication of the actual transmission power to the base station. The base station, in response to receiving an indication of actual transmission power of the first UL transmission, may adjust an estimate of the link quality based on the receive indication of actual transmission power.

An exemplary method, performed by a BS, generally includes receiving, from a UE, an indication of a category of the UE, wherein the category of the UE indicates at least one of: a maximum throughput supported by the UE or a number of layers supported by the UE; assuming a number of receivers at the UE based on the category of the UE; determining one or more transmit parameters based on the number of receivers of the UE; and communicating with the UE according to the one or more transmit parameters.
