Abstract:
A chip collector body, 40, is provided including a coupled base, 46, and elongate member, 50. The base, 46, and elongate member, 50, have a substantially hollow interior, 52, extending from a first end to a second end, so as to form a shell. A collector element, 70, is positioned within the hollow interior, 52. The collector element, 70, has a magnetic element, 76, positioned adjacent the second end and a flange, 78, positioned near the first end. The collector element, 70, is configured to move between a first position and a second position to selectively demagnetize the chip collector body, 40. An axial biasing member, 64, is positioned between the flange, 78, of the collector element, 70, and a rigid surface, The axial biasing member, 64, is configured to biais the collector element, 70, into the first position.
Abstract:
A high capacity magnetic filter separates diamagnetic and/or paramagnetic substances from fluid streams. Diamagnetic solid substances are magnetized under an external magnetic field through coordinated interaction of diamagnetic solid substances with an inducement paramagnetic material (IPM). The magnetic filter serves as a separation zone created by the presence of IPM and magnets that are shielded from the IPM by non-magnetic sleeves or partitions. The IPM in the void volume between the magnets affords large surface area onto which diamagnetic and paramagnetic materials can contact and be attracted to. The relative position and distance of the magnetic source, such a magnetic bar or electromagnet, to the solid mixture of diamagnetic and IPM are adjusted to induce sufficiently strong magnetism in the diamagnetic solids which causes the diamagnetic solids to be attracted by the magnetic field as well. Both diamagnetic and paramagnetic substances can be removed from a liquid or gas.

Abstract:
A magnetic filtration apparatus to separate magnet susceptible contaminant material from a working fluid. The apparatus comprises a housing having an internal chamber divided into a plurality of sub-chambers of different internal volume to change the fluid flow speed through the device and optimise filtration performance A plurality of elongate magnetic cores are mounted at a cartridge assembly to allow convenient and rapid interchange of magnetic cores at the same or different configurations.
Abstract:
A separator device for removing particles from suspension in a liquid comprises: a housing (12), having first (19) and second (40) chambers with apertures (98) for ingress and egress of liquid into the first chamber (19); means (100) for setting up a swirl of liquid within the first chamber (19); apertures enabling flow of liquid between the first chamber (19) and the second chamber (40); means for setting up a swirl of liquid within the second chamber (40), the swirl in the second chamber (40) being in substantially the opposite direction to the swirl in the first chamber, and there being no substantial flow in the second chamber (40) which is in the same direction as the swirl in the first chamber (19).
Abstract:
A magnetic particle separator (10) suitable for separating magnetic and non-magnetic particles from a thermal fluid flowing in a heating system. The magnetic particle separator (10) comprises a hollow body (10A, 10B) configured with an upper particle separation chamber (11) and for circulation of the thermal fluid between an inlet and an outlet port (12, 13), and a quieting chamber (15) beneath the particle separation chamber (11) for accumulation of the particles separated from the fluid: an annular support element (21) for permanent magnets (18) being removably fastened outside the quieting chamber (15) of the separator (10).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filter apparatus, especially intended for incorporation into a fluid reservoir tank (10) with at least one preferably exchangeable filter element (18) through which fluid can flow from the inside outward and which is surrounded, in each case maintaining a presettable radial distance and with formation of a fluid flow space (66), by a housing wall (44) which has a plurality of passage sites of which some are arranged below the particular adjustable fluid level (68) in the reservoir tank (10) and the rest are arranged above this fluid level (68). The invention further relates to a filter element for this kind of apparatus.
