An electrostatic precipitation type air cleaner is disclosed herein. The air cleaner includes a charging module to charge dust particles by applied power and a collection module to collect the dust particles charged by the charging module. The collection module includes high voltage electrode plates and low voltage electrode plates disposed opposite the high voltage electrode plates so as to form air passages with the high voltage electrode plates, at least one of the high voltage electrode plates and the low voltage electrode plates includes a conductive member, a dielectric member to surround at least a part of the conductive member and coating layers configured to coat the surfaces of the dielectric member, and the coating layer includes 0.5w% to 5w% of zinc oxide. The coating layer including 0.5w% to 5w% of zinc oxide may have high antimicrobial activity and maintain high surface hardness.

The air conditioner includes a case including a suction part, a discharging part disposed in the case to discharge air suctioned through the suction part, a discharge vane disposed at a side of the discharge part, the discharge vane being motionably provided to open or close the discharge part, and an ion generation device disposed inside the discharge vane to generate ions. The ion generation device includes a main body including an electrode structure that includes a discharge electrode and a ground electrode, a coupling part disposed on at least one surface of the main body, the coupling part being coupled to the case, and an ion discharge part disposed on the main body to discharge the ions generated when a high voltage is applied to the electrode structure.

An electric dust collecting device according to the invention includes an electric charging unit for electrically charging dust in air, a first filter unit including a plurality of discharge electrode plates spaced apart from each other to define passages therebetween through which dust electrically charged by the electric charging unit passes, and a second filter unit disposed downstream of the plurality of discharge electrode plates in an air flow direction and connected to a ground to cause corona discharge between the plurality of discharge electrode plates and the second filter unit and to collect electrically charged dust. Dust particles electrically charged by the electric charging unit pass through the passages of the first filter unit and then are collected at the second filter unit, and dust particles electrically charged between the first filter unit and the second filter unit are electrically charged by the second filter unit, thus improving electric charging efficiency and dust collecting efficiency.

Disclosed is an air cleaning device for air conditioners. The air cleaning device includes a charging unit, and a dust collector including ground bodies and high voltage applied bodies forming a potential difference with the ground bodies, and disposed after the charging unit in an air flow direction, the charging unit includes a charging unit body and carbon fiber electrodes installed on the charging unit body, and a hydrophilic layer is formed on the outer surface of at least one of the ground bodies and the high voltage applied bodies. The air cleaning device may minimize an amount of generated ozone and an amount of generated ions, as compared to a case having a charging unit in which electrical discharge wires and opposite electrodes are alternately disposed, and increase dust collection efficiency with a simple structure and at low costs.

A filter and a method for manufacturing same are disclosed. The filter including nanofibers formed by electrospinning comprises: a base having conductivity; and a nanofiber web formed by attaching the nanofibers on the base. The method for manufacturing the filter by attaching nanofibers on a base comprises the steps of: filling a syringe having a nozzle with a polymer solution, which is a raw material of the nanofibers; applying a +high voltage to the nozzle; and spinning the nanofibers from the nozzle toward the base. The base functions as a counter electrode of the nozzle.
