Abstract:
An embossing and laminating machine is described comprising a first embossing cylinder (3) with a surface provided with a first set of protuberances (P3), a second embossing cylinder (5) with a surface provided with a second set of protuberances (P5), the said two embossing cylinders forming a nip, and a first and a second pressure rollers (7, 9) interacting with the first and the second embossing cylinders (3, 5) respectively; and in which the protuberances of the said first and the said second sets (P3, P5) are made in such a way that in the said nip some of the protuberances of the first set (P3) coincide with some protuberances of the second set (P5), while other protuberances of the first set are out of phase with corresponding protuberances of the second set. The transmission between the two cylinders is a transmission which permits slippage and phase difference between the cylinders to produce uniform wear of the protuberances.
Abstract:
A method for forming rollers (1), particularly rollers for embossing paper webs, includes a first step of forming a series of protrusions (3) and a second step of forming a pattern or design entailing the at least partial removal of a certain number of the protrusions (3).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a female embossing tool (6) intended for embossing a flat element (60), comprising the steps of: providing a female embossing tool (6) coated with an outer layer (44) which is made of a material having shape memory properties and the outer surface of which is free of cavities; providing a male embossing tool (5, 5'), the outer surface of which is provided with at least one projection which corresponds to at least one desired embossing pattern on the flat element (60) after embossing; and bringing the male embossing tool (5, 5') and the female embossing tool (6) into engagement such that the outer layer (44) of the female embossing tool (6) undergoes plastic deformation which creates at least one cavity (42, 42') having a shape which complements the projection or projections (41, 41') on the male embossing tool (5, 5').
Abstract:
An embossing die is created by printing multiple ink layers (530, 540) in superposition thereby to build up a printed relief pattern (510) in accordance with received design data specifying a design to be embossed. The design data is modified after receipt to introduce into the printed relief pattern to be built, one or more channels (610) which extend depth-wise through multiple ink layers of the printed relief pattern (510) and serve to fully or partially segment the printed relief pattern.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a SAR counter die (SARCD), comprising a base; and a flexible-counter film (1608) comprising one or more types of polymers and having resilience attribute, associated to the base, wherein the SAR counter die acts as a counter die for pre-treating a plurality of cardboards.
Abstract:
An embossing roll for producing fibrous products, has a structurized embossing surface suitable to run against an anvil roll. The structurized embossing surface includes male protrusions or female depressions starting from a base circumferential surface of the roll. The embossing pattern is characterized by the following features: the base areas of selected male protrusions or female depressions in the base circumferential surface are different; the heights or depths of selected male protrusions or selected female depressions in a radial direction of the roll and starting from the base circumferential surface are different; and the angles between sidewall sections and the adjacent base circumferential surface of selected male protrusions and/or female depressions are different.
