PURPOSE: A braking pressure control device of a vehicle with an AICC(Autonomous Intelligent Cruise Control) device and a method thereof are provided to enable linear braking pressure control by a braking part relative to a braking control signal of a main controller. CONSTITUTION: A braking pressure control device of a vehicle with an AICC device comprises a main controller(10) comparing distance data sensed by sensing units of the vehicle and a preceding vehicle with reference data, and outputting a desired braking-pressure braking control signal if the compared value is within a predetermined distance; an automatic controller(20) comparing the current braking pressure with a desired braking pressure, outputting a control braking pressure, and outputting a braking pressure signal corresponding to the control braking pressure to execute braking motions; and a braking part(30) inputting the braking pressure control signal of the automatic controller, to execute braking of the vehicle.

A method is provided for adaptively determining an anti-block braking strategy that includes monitoring a distance differential of at least one target in proximity to a driven vehicle. An anti-lock braking strategy is determined as a function of the distance differential. The anti-locking braking strategy is applied as a function of the distance differential.

A method and system to control forward movement of a vehicle having adaptive control system and a localized communications system, including establishing communications with a target vehicle, identifying the target vehicle to the operator, verifying operator intent, and, executing an automatic following routine. The automatic following routine operates based upon operating parameters of the target vehicle and host vehicle, and, predetermined parameters for following. The operating parameters include vehicle heading, speed, acceleration, operator input to a brake pedal, and, and difference in acceleration between the host vehicle and the target vehicle. Disengaging the automatic following routine occurs when one of the target vehicle operating parameters changes by a predetermined amount, e.g., based upon a braking event, interference from third vehicle, operator input, when the target vehicle exceeds a predetermined speed, upon interruption of communications between the host vehicle and the target vehicle, or, upon operator command.
