Abstract:
A process for producing a steel cord for pneumatic tyres with a bunch of wires, the core of which consists of wire filaments (10) arranged in a bunch parallel and adjacent to one another. There are advantageously at least three wire filaments (10, 20), where at least two wire filaments (10) are spirally wound as filaments (10) forming a core (60) and run parallel and beside each other and at least one wire filament is spirally wound around the two core filaments (10) as the wrapping wire (20). According to the invention, the spiral deformation of the wire filaments (10) is obtained by false twisters (40). This spiral deformation of the wire filaments (10) especially prevents migration of the filaments from the cord composite. It is an advantage if residual torsional stresses between the core filaments and in connection with the restoring forces of the wrapping wire are relieved. The steel cord also advantageously has a flattened, especially oval, shape.
Abstract:
A high tensile steel strand for civil engineering applications comprises a core wire (11) and a ring of outer wires (12) arranged in a helical pattern around the core wire and in contact with the core wire. The number and the diameter of the outer wires in relation to the core wire are such that there are significant gaps (13) between adjacent outer wires. The strand is used as an anchorage in rock and a bonding agent between the strand and the rock penetrates gaps (13) to provide effective bonding. The strand is sufficiently flexible to be inserted in deep bores in rock even when surrounding space does not permit straight insertion of the strand.
Abstract:
Parts (6) of the exposed surfaces of a plurality of the helically extending outer wires (4) of a strand (1), e.g. for use as a roof bolt, are upset in a substantially non-axial direction. The upset parts or indentations (6) enhance keying to the anchoring medium and resist the tendency of the strand (1) to screw out of the anchoring medium, in use.
Abstract:
A reinforcement rope to be used in production of prestressed reinforced concrete constructions has a variable diameter (D1 and D2) along its length and its sections (2) of large diameter (D2) alternate periodically with the sections (3) of the small diameter (D1), smoothly blending one with the other. The proposed rope is produced either by use of a core with periodically changing diameter or by use, for the outside layers, of a wire with periodically changing diameter.
Abstract:
A rope structure comprising a plurality of formed composite strands. Each of the formed composite strands comprises fiber material and matrix material. The fiber material within the matrix material is twisted. The shapes of the plurality of formed composite strands are predetermined to facilitate combination of the plurality of composite strands into the rope structure.
Abstract:
A single wire steel cord of a vehicle tire is provided to improve the workability in manufacturing a tire and to have excellent linearity and excellent adhesive force. A single wire steel cord of a vehicle tire has a flat section part(1) and a circle section part(2) repeated with the cycle of 2-100 times of the wire diameter. The ratio of the short diameter and the long diameter is 0.50-0.95 in the flat section part, and the aspect ratio is 0.50 or greater to prevent the property of the steel cord from being degraded. The aspect ratio is 0.95 or less.
